Millie was taken aback at the severity of the situation. Did they have to sedate Joanna?
Hazel sighed. “Yes, Mr. Greer is waiting outside the room. He’s very worried about her.”
On this topic, everyone agreed that things were unfair for Millie. She was better than Joanna In every aspect, yet she lost Winston to Joanna in the end.
Millie bit her lips and deliberated. Finally, she stood up. “I’ll take a look.”
“I think
you shouldn’t. What if Joanna wakes up and yells at you? A nurse told me that Joanna would spit out really horrible things when she lost her temper. Joanna once said that…” Hazel’s voice trailed off.
Confused, Millie wondered what came out of Joanna’s mouth. Hazel scratched her head with a troubled expression.
Smiling. Millie assured her, “Just tell me. It’s fine.” She had already braced herself for the nasty comments that Joanna made about her.
“Joanna said she wanted to kill you,” Hazel revealed awkwardly.
Millie smirked. She had seen this coming.
“So, Dr. Caldwell, you need to be on your guard when you’re at the hospital because everyone assumed it was you who wrote that anonymous letter,” Hazel cautioned Millie.

Two bodyguards in black suits stood outside Joanna’s door with grave expressions.
A nurse who emerged from her room spotted Millie. “Dr. Caldwell!” she called out.
Winston looked up at the same time, but he shot Millie a hostile glare.
“How is Joanna doing?” Millie asked.
The nurse shook her head. “She isn’t doing well. Just now, she woke up in a panic.”
Frowning. Millie asked, “Who requested for Joanna to be sedated?”
“She had those severe mood swings. We-” The nurse had wanted to explain that they had no choice, but Winston cut her off.
“Why are you here?” he asked.
Millie hinted at the nurse to leave for the time being. Winston stood up and shot an impassive look at her.
Before Millle knew it, she had blurted out, “It wasn’t mel

“Did anyone else aside from you know that you gave Joanna your place in medical school?” he asked coolly.
Taken aback, she stared at him as she struggled to answer the question. Only a few people knew the truth. The Lowells certainly wouldn’t leak it, and Winston had no reason to do so.
