For a moment, Winston looked as though he was about to explain

Outside, Simon asked, Mills, have you found your phone?” 

Winston felt a finger hook on his. He looked down to see Joanna staring at him, confusion in her eyes

What was he doing? Why did he let her go upon seeing Millie walk in

Joanna could tell that Winston’s mind was somewhere else. She couldn’t be bothered to play golf anymore
