Chapter 373
“I would be really thankful to you if you’re willing to give up the necklace.” Millie flashed him a sincere
smile.
However, if Winston refused to sell the necklace, she wouldn’t bother him about it. After all, it was just a
necklace.
Winston raised an eyebrow. Taking a sip of water, he calmly asked, “Ms. Caldwell, what can you offer in exchange?”
“What can I offer? I’m buying it.” She shrugged. “How about double the price of the winning bid?”
Marvin’s heart sank when he looked at the two of them. Although they were no longer husband and wife, they would still make a powerful duo.
Winston was always aggressive. Meanwhile, Millie had become increasingly intimidating with a streak of madness.
“Let’s not always talk about money. That’s crass,” Winston replied with a sigh.
Millie refused to engage further. “Mr. Greer, just let me know when you’re ready to give up on the necklace. It’s getting late. I don’t want to take up any more of your time. Bye!”
She tried to leave, but Winston tutted. “Millie Caldwell, I saved your life, remember? I still have an injury
on my arm.
She paused and blinked at Winston. Was he seeking attention by bringing up the time he saved her life? She had saved his life many times too!
Besides, it was not her fault that he got injured in the arm.
She fixed her gaze calmly on his face. “I told you I don’t need you to save me, but you insisted on doing it If you willingly made a sacrifice for me, do not expect my gratitude no matter what happens to you.”
She gave him a nod and left with a smile. Her curt and decisive remark was akin to plunging a knife into
his heart.
She was cruel. Her words echoed in his head. “If you willingly made a sacrifice for me, do not expect my gratitude no matter what happens to you.”
The door of the private dining room slammed shut. Winston grabbed his glass tightly. Moments later, he released the glass with a bitter smile.
Eli entered the room. He whispered, “Mr. Greer…”
He shot an exhausted look at Eli. “Go ahead.”
“We’ve ended our business partnership with William Pearson,” Eli, keeping his head low, reported to Winston with great respect.
Winston nodded. “Okay.”
“We’ll bring the item from the auction back home.”
Winston stood up and left the room. Eli asked, “Mr. Greer, do you want to eat more? You haven’t had much today.”

“It’s not to my taste,” he replied flatly.
Eli checked out the table. Only Millie finished her food. Winston barely ate.
“How are things on William Pearson’s side?” Winston glanced at Eli.
