Chapter 400
Winston narrowed his eyes. It turned out Kennedy knew that Millie was his ex–wife. Then why was he trying so hard to get close to Millie?
“Mr. Greer, when will you release my cargo?” Kennedy pursed his lips, his gaze ominous.
Winston sized him up. It was as if he was trying to see through Kennedy’s intentions.
“William’s goods are banned in Yerwick. This is a straightforward rule. But Mr. Sullivan, since you insist on importing them, don’t expect any leniency from me.” Winston’s voice was low and laden with authority.
Kennedy scowled, his eyes full of provocation as he taunted, “Mr. Greer, is this all you’re capable of?”
“It’s more than enough for dealing with you,” Winston retorted with a mocking smile.
Kennedy immediately took a step forward, while his expression betrayed a hint of agitation.
Winston shot him an icy sideways glance and said coldly, “Kennedy, if you’re trying to use the Caldwells to threaten me, I suggest you give up on that idea now.”
After all, the Caldwell family wouldn’t easily be turned into a pawn in Kennedy’s game. Terrence might appear easygoing, but he was unyielding when it came to protecting his interests.
Kennedy balled his right hand into a fist and clenched his teeth in anger. Winston, on the other hand, met his eyes with a cold stare.
“Let me repeat myself. My family had nothing to do with that incident!”
Their eyes locked. Winston’s expression was one of firm resolve, while Kennedy’s eyes were filled with intense hatred.
But in no time, Kennedy regained his composure. He smiled and nonchalantly commented, “Mr. Greer, everyone has their Achilles‘ heel. Don’t be too confident just yet.”
Winston’s expression darkened as he fixed his frosty gaze on Kennedy’s retreating figure.
“Winston.” Jake’s voice came from behind.
Winston turned before acknowledging him with a hum.
“Are you alright?” Jake approached and patted his shoulder.
Winston nodded. What could possibly happen to him?
“Kennedy seems aggressive. Is he back to seek revenge for what happened years ago?” asked Jake. That day was the first time he interacted with Kennedy.
Winston didn’t respond, but Jake took his silence as confirmation.
He sighed before saying, “Hey, I heard you’ve been looking at wedding dresses lately. Are you really
going to marry that pretentious bitch?”
Winston shot him a look. “Her name is Joanna.”

“It’s all the same to me,” Jake responded. It was evident that he wasn’t fond of Joanna.
He pouted and continued, “Have you thought this through? Once you marry Joanna, getting a divorce will be much harder than with Millie.
“By the way, isn’t the cooling–off period for the divorce with Millie almost up? You should be getting your divorce decree soon, right?”
Winston was already feeling troubled, and now, Jake only added to his frustration by bringing up these matters.
“Win, you really need to think this over,” Jake advised seriously, firmly patting Winston’s shoulder. Winston gave him a sideways glance. “I thought you were all for my divorce before. What changed?” Jake parted his lips to respond but couldn’t find his words.
Winston scoffed. “Are you taking Millie’s side just because you’re trying to work with Rachel?”
