Maya looked through the crowd that danced around them. Everyone was happy for them but none saw that there was no love lost between them. She admired the couple that laughed and talked joyfully behind her husband's back.
If anything, she would say that it was the happiest couple she had ever set her eyes on. They weren't bothered about what people would think about them. And the way the man whispered sweet nothings to the wife and watched her blush, she knew that, since she could see the woman's ears turn scarlet from her distance.4
That was the kinda love she deserved. The one that she would be able to shout to the whole world. The one that even her parents didn't share because of her father. The one that only happened in fantasy only.3
Was that too much to ask? She wanted more yet she got none. It wasn't fair at all but again the world itself wasn't fair. That's why you find one owns millions in bank while another lacks food to eat.9
Love wasn't bed of roses and she knew it. The sooner she woke up from her dreams, the better. The better she will come up with an immune for her dear husband.4
If he already began to hurt her in front of everyone and no one could see, how far can he go when they were alone? She couldn't help and wonder if he will still bring his girlfriend to the house.7
What was she even thinking? The moment he pulled her for a dance, he smelt of a female cologne which wasn't hers. He didn't have it before he had excused himself.2
He had seen her just few hours after their wedding, then what makes him stop there? It's not like she was hurt or anything but she didn't like the idea of breaking the vows. They were holy since they were said in the eyes of the Lord...3
She wimped out of her thoughts when she felt him step on her foot purposely. He looked like the devil himself. He was on a mission and unlike the devil who is in a mission to find more followers who will burn in the pit of fire with him. Her new partner was in a mission to destroy her and her alone.
Maya focused her gaze at him wishing he had done that by accident but the look of satisfaction she got from him was enough to tell her she was correct.
Chris pulled her close to him with a fake smile on his face making sure that he drew blood from her waist. She hissed in pain but still kept a straight smile with her.2
She knew he was enjoying to torture her in front of people because she can't complain. He was loving everything so far forgetting that she wasn't at fault also. It wasn't her wish to be married to him but her father had....1
"May I borrow your wife for a while, son?" her father asked from behind her.
She felt Chris body stiffen for a while causing shiver to run down her spine. It was his fault that she was being hurt right now. It was his and she was going to suffer in silence.
"Of course, Mr. Freeman," Chris let go of her and walked passed them after excusing himself.

The nerve of that old man calling me son. Son? I will never be his son.
Chris walked inside his mansion with his wife still in his hands. He couldn't let the servants who were waiting for him to see that they weren't getting along with his one and only innocent wife.
They all greeted him and his wife the moment they stepped inside the mansion. This was his territory. Where he would do whatever he pleases with her. She was going to suffer in silence and he was going to be the source of her pain.
He would enjoy every time he would see her break. That was his mission. To break her to the point she would never be brought back even if anyone tried to help.7
