Maya wake up the following day to find herself in the arms of her dear husband. He had cuddled her from her back and it left her wondering when he did that. To her, they were only going to sleep and that's what happened or at least that's what she thought till morning.
She thought for a while how she was going to get out of his arms without waking him up since she was going to avoid him today. Not because he hugged her from behind so tight that she couldn't breath but because he was no sober when he apologised or rather she apologised.
What if he woke up and thought that nothing had changed? That he had apologised to her and she to him? It was better to handle this things at night to avoid bad day. Maya tried to turn so that she laid of her back but his hold just tightened which left her wondering if he was really asleep.
His breathing was evenly and that to her meant Chris was either half asleep or he was pretending to be. But it didn't stop her from trying again and again which all she got was firm hands around her.
Maya moved her eyes to the grandfather clock that hung on the walk to find that it was five in the morning. She never walk up at the time, she walk up at six and her husband walk up at five twenty to go for his morning jog.
Her breath quicken when she heard someone breath on her neck. Of course it did sent shivers down her spine which had her hold her breath. She should've expected when she had a chance. Maybe gone to make breakfast for him with a brewing coffee for his hangover. But no, she had to struggle to be on her back which woke him up.
What happened to don't wake him? She had no idea herself and now, now she was going to pay for her bad choice.
"You smell so good." Chris said still on her neck. His voice was more heavy than it usually is which made her amused. It's the first time she heard his speak for his sleep and to be honest, it was sexy than she hated to admit. "You smell like lavender and it's driving me crazy."
Of course it had to since he pulled her closer than she thought it was important. Her tag top had risen up and her skin on the back touched his bare stomach. Wait, bare? Chris had worn a tee shirt and sweatpants when they went to sleep and now he was wearing nothing since her legs and thigh were skin to skin with his. She wanted to jump out of bed but his hold held her still.
As if reading her mind, he answered. "It was hot in the night so I got rid of my clothes." Chris planted a perk on her neck. "The thing is that I don't know if it's you who made this place so hot or the duvet. But not to worry I'm in my briefs not unless you want to get rid of them yourself. To be honest, I won't mind."
Those words bothered Maya so much. She didn't know why but the did and he didn't help when he slide his one hand to her belly. Maya held her breath as if waiting for it to either go up or down but it did none. Instead, he rubbed her belly and she couldn't miss the smirk that she felt from him on her neck.
Things had taken a wrong turn. Not how she expected them to go. She thought Chris would have a hangover in the morning when he woke up and yet, here he was doing this sinful things to her. Yes, sinful. She hadn't bargained for this when she laid to the bed with him last night. Please, remind her next time when she thinks of doing that again.
Maya's thoughts were pulled back when she heard pain from where Chris had been sucking for the last God knows how long. And that when she came to her senses and understood what he was doing. The bastard had given her a hickey. He had given her a freaking hickey so that whoever saw her would think she had a steamy night or morning.
"Don't worry kitten," Chris said when he felt her try to move away from him. "I was just making my territory. So Mr. Ambrose will see that he stands no chance."
What was he talking about? Leonel wasn't interested in her, at least that's what she knew. He was just a friend no, in fact her best friend. Yes, he had graduated from being a friend to a best friend since he earned it. Maybe when she met him late today she would give him the good news and watch his reaction.
But her knowing Leonel for being Leonel, he would say he knew that since the day the met and she being Maya, she would hit his shoulder playful and call him a name and he would pretend to be hurt but they would laugh together. So Chris had no reason to be jealous of Leonel. Wait, what was she even saying.
She had to asking him what he was talking about but what came out of her mouth shocked her herself.
"Kitten?"
Yeah, that's what she asked and not why he wanted to mark his territory when they had less than six months before they separate and everyone go their own way. She had thought of moving state when they did that or town. Of course, she didn't want to run into her ex when they're divorced.
She didn't know why but it would hurt her when she got those papers and signed on them. It even hurt to think of the damn divorce now. What then. What of that day? When they'll have their lawyers there to negotiate for each one of them. But she needed nothing from him. She would leave him the way she found him or more richer than he was.
Maya had her own money and a career to depend on. And she would be grateful that she won't go back to her father for anything. Not for money and neither for love and affection since she would have an idea of how it felt to be loved by people around you and not one person. That was also her other reason to move state. To be away from her monster of her father who is a monster to her and a blessing to others.
"Yes, kitten." Chris rubbed his noise over her neck bring Maya back to reality. "It's my name and I'll call you that from now own. It's not like I don't like cupcake anymore. This is my original." She felt his hand on her belly move a little high and her hand moved to stop it from moving. Of course he let out a sexiest laugher she had never heard before. That is if she ever heard him laugh. "And you can call me," she heard him lean to her ears and whisper, "puppy."
Maya didn't know why or how it happened but she moaned out earning her another laughter from Chris. He was enjoying what he was doing to her and she, she didn't understand why she was reacting to him. And just when she thought it was over, he flipped her on back and before she could register what was happening, he was on top of her. This time, her top only covered her breast and her breath was heavy and so was is.
She wanted to push him away. She really did but her hands didn't even attempt to pull her top down. It's like every part of her body had their own mind now. Her legs wanted to wrap around her husband's body, her eyes wanted to watch her crush since highschool all day long long and her hands, they're the worst. She didn't even want to think of what they wanted.
"I've never seen anything so beautiful like you in the morning." Chris was rubbing her cheeks. "I'm even jealous. Jealous of the mattress since you sleep on to of it and not me. Jealous of the duvet for covering your whole body every night and not me as I'm doing now. I'm jealous of the pillow for making your hair mess every time you sleep on them and not my hands who do much want to do that when we make love. I'm jealous of the clothes for hiding that sexy body of your and covering it up when it's my hands, lips and eyes should be doing that, kitten. I'm jealous kitten. Jealous that your friends get to make you laugh and not me. I'm really really jealous of so many things that I can't mention them at one go. Cause I'm even jealous of the sun and rain for kissing your beautiful skin with rays and drops of water when my lips have not done that yet. I need to stop there."
Now she, was out of breath. And it had her wonder why? Chris was the one supposed to be out for breath for speaking to her without him stopping. He was jealous. Jealous because of her. The things around her made him jealous. Was that a good thing? Was she also jealous? She had no idea why she was happy but she felt like she could face the world head on. Chris was now rubbing her lips which had her stare at his hazel eyes. They're always blue when he was mad but now, now they're changing from blue to brown.
And then he did what she wasn't expecting him to do. Lean in. Her breath was caught in her lungs. And she needed air more than she ever thought she did before. Chris was about to crash his lips with hers when she moved her head to the side and he, he kissed her cheek.
"Com'no kitten, I know you're feeling what I'm feeling." He moved a little bit and that's when she felt him. He was too excited for her and that gave her the strength that she needed to push him away. He fell on the other side of the bed laughing and she wasted no time get of the bed and moving away.
"Why are you so mean?" He pulled the duvet to cover himself still laughing. "He was just too excited and he doesn't bit, you know."
Maya brushed and looked at her watch. Thanks to him, the excited him she was on her feet at six.
