Chapter 234
“Yeah, it looks better now, doesn’t it?” Eric’s voice echoed in my ear and made me jump. When did he come back? Why didn’t I
notice it?
So, I turned my head and my lips instantly touched his cheek.
The sudden intimacy sent a tingling sensation through my body, almost as if I’d been jolted by electricity. Feeling numb and tingly, I awkwardly dodged away from him, but his hand moved faster to grab my face. I couldn’t move my gaze anywhere as I was forced to look into his deep eyes.
Eric was born with a charming look; his eyes were like deep puddles of water that could never rise again after diving
into them.
As I heard the loud, rumbling sound of my heartbeat, I mentally asked myself, What is this? What’s going on with
mine?
A feeling of panic and helplessness stopped my mind from working and I kept looking at him like an idiot.
After what felt like an eternity, his fingers suddenly slid across my face and made me shiver. At that moment, I was finally pulled back to reality as I pushed him away and stood up.
Eric stumbled back when I pushed him, but soon caught himself. The attractive glint in his eyes soon faded and was replaced by a peaceful look, as if everything that had gone before was just another normal occurrence in his day. Amazed at his calmness, I thought he must be very used to taking advantage of women. When I was judging him, he suddenly showed me the pieces of paper in his fingers and said, “There is something stuck in his face. I was just helping to clean it up.”
With a casual apology, he explained his now inappropriate movement. But then why were there pieces of paper on my face in the first place? Anyway, this wasn’t the time to dwell on it. So, I stammered, “W-Well, sorry about what happened just now. I didn’t do it on purpose.”
He touched his face and gave me a meaningful smile. “I don’t blame you for that.”
His words sounded so wrong, like I wanted to molest him. In the midst of our awkward silence, the clatter of high heels was heard outside the door. Then the door opened and Camille entered. She was surprised to see me here. “Lily, are you here too?”
