Chapter 185 Heather Visits Alex In The Hospital 

The two stared at each other for a moment before Heather finally broke the silence, “Is it bad?” 

After all, Heather still cared about Alex.

“It’s fine. Nothing to worry about.” Alex gave her a soft smile as if he were not bothered by it at all.

“Were you planning to keep me in the dark had Kate not called me?” Heather was staring down at Alex as she interrogated him. 

“It’s just a minor injury. Nothing worth skipping your work for, really. Besides, the chairman just offered you 10% of the shares. You should really work harder and make more money to please him.” Alex casually reasoned with Heather but her expression suddenly changed as she thought he was trying to insinuate something else with his words. 

“What the hell does that mean?” Heather’s face darkened as she looked daggers at Alex. 

“What?” Alex was puzzled at her response, “Nothing! I was just trying to remind you to make the most out of this rare opportunity. What else did you think I was trying to say?” 

Alex was not trying to make fun of Heather at all. 

Heather scoffed at him before changing the subject.

“Maybe you should think about your son first before you try to play hero again next time. I’m sure you enjoy being the hero but one day your son may just lose his father!” 

“I know. I wouldn’t have done that if I weren’t sure that I could pull it off,” Alex explained himself. 

“If you were so sure then why are you hurt now?” 

Heather jabbed at Alex, “If the bullet somehow landed on your head or your heart instead of shoulder, would you still be so sure of yourself?” 

Alex shrugged his shoulder to indicate that he was not interested in continuing on with the subject. 

“You should go pick him up soon.” Alex tried to change the subject. 

“I know. I don’t need you to remind me,” Heather scoff 

at him again. 

Alex pouted as he did not know how else to respond. 

“Have you had anything yet? Should I get you something to eat?” asked Heather. 

“No. Just leave me be. I don’t feel like eating.” Alex shook his head in response. 

“Have it your way,” Heather scoffed one last time before leaving the hospital. 

Alex rested until 5.30 pm before requesting to be discharged as the wound was nothing to him. All he had to do was to utilize his inner energy to heal himself back at home and he would be good as new in a few days. 

After a few days of recovery, along with the help of some home remedy that Alex prepared himself, his shoulder was almost healed up completely.
