Chapter 890 Coffin Dodger
Jared and Magnus shared a look before smiling Clearly, they were not going to save Stannis.
They had come to Jadeborough to seek revenge on Alex, but they did not know Alex’s prowess. Even though Stannis was just a normal person. Magnus would like to find out how Alex would kill a man.
“Go ahead.” Both Jared and Magnus took a step back.
Stannis never thought that the two elderly men would leave him to die.
Am I really going to be killed by Alex today? But I don’t want to!
Crawling forward, he grabbed the hem of Jared’s pants and choked out, “Mr. Wallace, how can you do this to me? I found Alex for you. How can you let me die like this? Mr. Wallace, please save me! I don’t want to die! Didn’t you come to teach Alex a lesson? Kill him!”
Jared remained unfazed by Stannis’ words. After all, people like him saw everyone in the world as an instrument for him to get a brighter future. Once the people outlived their worth, he would not care if they died.
By then, Alex had already reached Stannis’ side, and he pulled Stannis off the floor.
Staring at Alex was like staring at the grim reaper’s face. As Stannis grabbed Alex’s hand, he cried out in desperation. “No, no! Alex, you can’t kill me! I wasn’t thinking straight! Please let me off. Think about the good times we had with each other recently!”
Stannis was gripped by regret. If he had known that Jared was a merciless person like this, he would have never tried to butter him up.
If he had gone back to the hotel and not bore thoughts of taking shortcuts, perhaps he would have been on his way back to Yaleview by then.
Alas, it was too late. Alex would not show mercy to a traitor. If Alex had not noticed something amiss in the amusement park and told Maggie and Stanley to leave first, the two would have been embroiled in the matter. They could have lost their lives.
“Stannis, you should have thought about the consequences when you decided to betray me.” With that said, Alex tightened his grip around Stannis’ neck and broke it.
After tossing Stannis’ body to the side, he dusted his hands and finally faced the two elderly men. No matter how long Alex looked at him, Jared still seemed like an average person. On the other hand, the elderly man donning a black robe seemed mysterious, and Alex could not figure out what kind of person
he was.
Right as Alex parted his lips to say something, he felt something rushing toward his neck.
His pupils constricted. When he whipped his head around, he saw a black bug the size of a fingernail -lunging toward him.
Alex had no idea what that bug was, so he did not dare to use his hand to crush it. Thus, he quickly took off his jacket and wrapped it around the bug before throwing it on the ground and stomping on it.
Once that was done, Alex pointed at the robed elderly man and snarled, “You’re one sly old man!” Instead of responding to Alex, Magnus spat out some saliva, which then transformed into bugs resembling
the black one that flew toward Alex earlier.
