Chapter 891 Disgusting
“Do you think that little trick of yours can actually take on my poisonous insects? If that was the case, no one would perceive my insects as a threat, no?” Magnus remarked with a sneer.
Setting fire to some clothes can indeed momentarily drive those little black insects away. Could it be that this old man has something else up his sleeve? The pill that Green Mountain Monastery’s Master Fonzo tras holding most likely came from him.
Alex was all but certain that Magnus was not that easy to deal with.
He observed as Magnus took out a gleaming dagger from his black robe and made a cut on his wrist.
His action puzzled Alex. He looks like he’s attempting to take his life by slashing his wrist.
However, Alex would not simply believe that Magnus would give up his life so easily. He must be up to something.
Sure enough, there was a cut where Magnus had slit his wrist, but it was not blood that flowed out. A little swarm of black insects unexpectedly flew out of the cut.
These insects were different from the ones Magnus had spat out earlier because the tops of their heads
were crimson.
They flew toward Alex viciously as soon as they emerged from Magnus’ body as if they wanted to consume him to the bone.
Alex swung the burning shirt at the approaching insects in an attempt to repel them, but it proved futile.
Those red-headed bugs still fluttered their wings and swarmed toward him amidst the fire. They appeared unaffected by the flames.
At that point, Alex started to panic. He could only envelop his body with his Mortal Force to prevent the red-headed bugs from biting him.
Sure enough, those insects set their target on Stannis’ corpse on the ground after discovering that they could not get to Alex.
As he was relatively close to Stannis’ corpse, he saw the bugs piercing the flesh of Stannis’ face one by one.
He could clearly see them wriggling in the dead man’s flesh, and soon, the skin on his face sank.
It only took around five minutes for Stannis’ body to be left with only a layer of skin covering his bones. The rest of his flesh had been consumed.
When Alex saw that, his jaw almost dropped in shock. He cursed at the nearby Magnus, “You old b*stard and your crooked ways. I dare you to fight me hand-to-hand.”
Magnus merely snorted in response, completely disregarding Alex’s words. Those red-headed bugs currently could not get close to the latter since he had enveloped his body with Mortal Force.
At that moment, Magnus opened his mouth, and what appeared to be a green-headed fly flew out from under his tongue.
If it were not for his strong psychological endurance, the sight of the bugs emerging from Magnus’ body one after another would have made Alex feel like throwing up long ago.
