Chapter 893 Die
That’s it? I ate it?
Alex had not foreseen himself actually being able to consume the green-headed fly and felt a lingering fear upon recalling how bold he’d been.
Yet he seemed to be doing fine. All those red-headed hugs that were chasing him had even mysteriously dropped dead.
Alex was in utter disbelief at suddenly being free from danger.
“Your insects are useless against me, you old coot! Bring it on! I have nothing to fear.” Alex was bende himself with joy.
He was euphoric from successfully escaping death’s clutches. Even if he could be beaten to death by Magnus, at least he wouldn’t die in a horrific manner.
The Bentley stopped in front of Alex. Magnus had just opened the car door when he began coughing out blood. The hair beneath his black robe turned white alarmingly quickly, and the wrinkles on his face visibly deepened.
The vitality in Magnus’ body was continuously depleting, thereby exhausting him. Still, he held on and pointed his bony finger at Alex as he gritted his teeth. “Y-You’re still alive after consuming my Life Bug How could this be?”
Alex was curious about it himself. He hadn’t foreseen resolving his threat as simply as that.
Alex cleared his throat and straightened his back, declaring proudly, “I have plenty of secrets. You’re not fit to be my opponent, old b’stard. Now get lost! Take it as me being merciful by letting you off easy.”
Those were merely empty threats. The truth was that he would still lose if Magnus were hellbent on subduing him.
Alex could tell that Magnus’ power was superior to his based on his gait earlier.
Although Magnus used a walking stick, his steps were light and sturdy, as if it was effortless. However, he still paled in comparison to the elderly man who’d saved Alex’s life during the birthday celebration.
Alex wanted to try his luck in giving Magnus a scare since he thought he would likely not get away from them. He held on to the slim chance of Magnus being cowed by him.
To his surprise, Magnus collapsed right after that and never got up.
Alex was flabbergasted. He doubted Magnus was truly dead due to his impression of him being a formidable opponent.
Magnus remained unmoving on the ground for a long time, as if he were long gone.
Alex was wary of Magnus pulling tricks on him and didn’t approach to verify if he was still alive.
He nudged Magnus gingerly with his foot lest he tried anything shady but didn’t elicit any reaction in
response.
Jared was sprawled on the ground while he patted Magnus’ back and raised his voice worriedly. “Mr. Quentin, Mr. Quentin, are you all right? Hurry and get up! You will have plenty of time to rest after
getting rid of this brat for good.”
Alex had never touched Magnus all this while. As such, Jared wasn’t convinced that Magnus was now deceased.
No matter how loudly Jared called, Magnus did not move an inch. Jared panicked when he felt that something was off.
He stretched out a finger below Magnus’ nose but didn’t feel his breath. He tried to listen for his heartbeat but felt no pulse.
Is he dead?
