Chapter 943 The Plan Of Kate 

Kate grew angry at those words. 

Does that mean he won’t be responsible for us? I have birthed a child to entangle myself with him so he would marry me and bring the Sutton family to the upper echelons of society. It is a considerable sacrifice. I will not simply give it up. 

Kate was no fool. In fact, she was sharp as a tack. She decided she was not going to throw at tantrum at Alex and force him to marry her. 

Not only would it be ineffective, but it would also push him further away. 

Alex must be fond of Maggie to be wanting to make her his wife. In that case, I’ll start with her.

She wanted Alex’s last impression of her to be one of maturity and accommodative. Instead of throwing a fit, she would be understanding. That way, Alex would not be turned off. 

The next phase of Kate’s plan would be to see Maggie, who had been so upset by Kate’s arrival that she left-a clear indication that she loved Alex very much. Somebody as emotionally driven as that was, to Kate, easy to manipulate. 

So what if you’re the heiress of a powerful family? So what if you are beautiful? Even if Alex falls for you, I can easily take him away! 

Alex watched Kate exit the office. This time, he did not stop her. With everything that had happened, he wanted to be left alone. 

Suddenly, his phone rang. Alex felt his heart clench. For some reason, a sense of foreboding loomed over him. Sure enough, he more or less guessed what happened when he saw that it was Liana who was calling. 

Liana’s panicked voice sounded as soon as the call was put through. “The Grant family pulled out of their investment in the tech dome, Mr. Jefferson, and we’re now short of thirty billion. If we don’t replace it soon, the tech dome will have no way of maintaining its operations.” 

Old Mr. Grant was not joking. It hasn’t even been half an hour since I left, and he has already pulled 

out. 

Alex, along with the Jones and Taylor families, had put their heart and soul into the project. It would be catastrophic for him if the tech dome were forced to cease operations. 

“Wait there. I’m coming over right now.” Without another word, Alex hung up. 

Meanwhile, with her daughter in her arms, Kate had managed to find out where Maggie lived and dashed off to her home without further ado.
