Speed Candles novel Chapter 9

"If I don’t, how could I change your mind?" She was calm and confident.

"Go ahead! What do you want?" Sebastian Clark took a deep breath and endured the thought of slapping her face.

Emily bit her lip lightly, and tidied up her dress, as if nothing had happened.

"The reason why you wanted to marry Louisa was because you wanted the shares of Morris Property!" Her eyes were moist and bright. "And now you have the opportunity."

Sebastian must have heard of the acquisition case of Morris Property. Now the company was different from what it was two years ago. If he once had an ambition for it, now he might have lost interest because it was no longer attractive to him.

Sebastian sat lazily on the sofa and lit a cigarette. He thought for a while, and said, "How much do you want me to pay for this unprofitable company?"

Emily gazed downwards, and subtly fixed on his half-open bathrobe. She said, "It depends on how you think of me."

Sebastian looked her into the eyes and felt tempted for her enchanting appearance, although he knew she showed charm deliberately. It was impossible for him to keep calm in front of such a beauty.

His eyesight swept through her untidy skirt, messy hair, and even smudged makeup, but he still felt the abnormal reaction inside his body. He felt very uncomfortable and intolerant.

Seeing him hesitate to speak, Emily asked, "OK, then can I take a bath first?" She spoke in an impatient tone.

Sebastian became angry when he saw her coquettish appearance. He was almost 30 years old now, and this was the first time a woman dared to be so presumptuous to him.
