Concerned, he pulled her hand away from the grill and unscrewed a bottle of mineral water quickly to douse on the burnt spot.
The cold liquid relieved her of the pain as Nell said softly, “It’s okay. It didn’t really burn me. I just touch it lightly. It doesn’t hurt anymore.”
Gideon’s expression was still tense. He studied her hand carefully and although there were no blisters on it, there was a red mark. It did not seem serious, but it must be painful.
He immediately felt annoyed, so he pulled her aside to sit on the stool farthest from the stove and said, “Don’t go near there anymore. If you want to eat, I will get Simon to cook for you.”
Simon was playful and he was not skilled in anything but his barbecuing skills were top-notch. After all, he was the one who proposed the barbecue tonight.
With a smile, Nell tugged on his hand and teased, “Why are you so nervous? I’m fine.”
Gideon was still unhappy.
Nell’s mouth twitched. “Okay, can’t I make a mistake? Don’t call Joel. They are having fun. Don’t ruin it for them.”
Gideon looked towards Joel's direction. Sure enough, Joel and Simon were fooling around with the others. Although they were all in their twenties, they were playing like children, with no regard for their image at all.
He could not help but snort heavily and scoff, "Childish!"
Nell stifled a smile before she stood up, took his hand, and sat down by the stove again, "Okay, don't talk about other people now. What do you want to eat? I'll make more grilled meat for you."
Unexpectedly, the man took the utensil in her hand and said, "Sit back. I will cook."
Although Nell was a little surprised, she moved the stool back obediently and asked, "You know how?"
He glanced at her disdainfully. "Just this little task? What's the big deal?"
Nell did not believe him.
However, the reality was that sometimes a person’s IQ could really determine a lot of things. It was Gideon’s first time barbecuing. When he first started, his cooking was not very decent, but by the third skewer, the taste improved. Later, it became more and more delicious.
Nell could not stop eating and admiring his skill as she ate. "God, if you chose not to be a CEO one day, you can set up a stall and sell barbecued meat. You will definitely make a fortune."
Gideon instantly broke into a cold sweat.
The CEO of the dignified Leith Corporation selling barbecue by the roadside? How humiliating was that?
He glared at her and said, "Eat your food."
Nell indulged in the delicious food and occasionally fed him a bite.
Although Gideon had learned to cook, he still did not enjoy this type of food very much. If it were not for Joel's suggestion today, and the others not having any objection to it, he definitely would not have agreed to eat this.
The scent of the barbecue attracted two people who were fighting in the distance. Joel shouted from afar, "Wow, is Second Sister-in-law grilling? It smells so good."
Only when he approached them did he realize that Gideon was cooking.
Their jaws suddenly dropped, and then they looked at Nell next to them, eating with a greasy mouth, not caring about how she looked at that moment.
Instantly, the two of them trembled in their hearts.
Second Elder Brother sure spoiled his wife!
As someone who had never touched anything in the kitchen before, he had actually learned to grill!
Such really was the magic of love and how great was it!
Joel could not stand the temptation of the fragrance. He grinned as he licked his lips and leaned over. "Second Elder Brother, it smells so good! Grill one for me too.”
Simon could not pretend anymore too and so, he went over. "I want some too. I want half a dozen oysters, three skewers of beef, and ten skewers of lamb."
However, all Gideon did was throw them a cold look.
Immediately afterward, he spat three words out briefly. "Cook it yourself!"
They were stunned!
