Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 830

Gregory heard Vickie continue, “It’s not because I care about you, it’s because of our current relationship. It’s kind that you’re willing to help me investigate those people, but I don’t want to be indebted to you, and neither can I afford to be, do you understand?"

What she said was the truth — her true thoughts.

However, Gregory laughed when he heard this.

"Don't want to be indebted to me? Vickie, you’re already indebted to me, so what makes you say that you don't want to be indebted to me anymore?"

Vickie was taken aback.

She took a deep breath and simply said, "Well, Gregory, I admit that this matter is very important but it’s also very dangerous. I have no one else that I can trust but you, do you understand? What happened in the past doesn’t matter, no matter right and wrong, but what I know is that in the most dangerous times, only you wouldn’t leave me alone. So in exchange, I will have your back. Can you promise to keep me safe, bring me back safely, and seize those who want to harm me? You won't let me down right?"

It had been four years but once again, this lady looked at him with such sincere and trusting eyes that made Gregory’s heart throb.

His eyes deepened as he looked at Vickie and his Adam's apple moved.

After a while, he said, "Yes."

Vickie smiled slightly.

"Then, let me go out alone to do what I said — act. Tell everyone that I was the one who poisoned Yuliana. Then when I leave in the evening, you can secretly bring a group of people out to follow me, but remember not to follow too closely. The other party is too cunning, and it can be seen from this poisoning incident that someone has already sneaked into the chateau.

"In other words, they were already in the chateau in the first place. I know that the people around you are carefully selected and trustworthy, but even so, I don’t want this matter to spread. Just in case."

She said it so seriously that Gregory naturally understood it was a matter of life and death for the two, so they must not treat it lightly.

He nodded seriously. "I see."

Only then did Vickie smile again before she turned her head away.

"Go ahead."

Gregory paused.

He knew that she was letting him go to start the plan.

Though he also knew that once he stepped out of this door, the two of them would have to act like enemies for the rest of today, at least a while.

For some reason, a sweet yet bitter feeling rose in his heart.

He fixed his eyes at her and said, "Vick, after this matter, when all those people are caught, can we sit down peacefully to have an honest talk?"

Vickie was a little shocked.

Even so, she did not look back at him. Instead, she just looked to a distance through the window.

After a while, she said quietly, "Okay."

Only then did Gregory step forward contentedly before he leaned down and kissed the top of her head.

She trembled slightly as she heard his deep voice.

"Vick, I will wait for you to come back."

Vick, I will wait for you to come back.

What a normal and ordinary sentence, but why did it make her tear up all of a sudden?

Those days and nights that were once sweet and lingering seemed to be coming back, scene after scene, flashing past like a movie.

She forced a smile and nodded with her eyes red.

"Sure."

Gregory then turned around and strode towards the door.

When he reached the door, he suddenly stopped. Then, he turned around and when he waved his hand, a vase on the shoe cabinet at the door fell.
