From the very beginning, all the warmth and friendship they had was nothing more than a lie.
Everyone knew that it was fake. She was the only one that adamantly clung to the feelings of warmth and friendship, going through hell and back for them.
Vickie fell silent.
Gregory probably guessed what she was thinking but did not interrupt.
He knew that she would have found out regardless. She had to know the hard truth.
Only when faced with the truth could she understand to make the right choices.
The car hummed steadily as they drove back to the chateau.
As they got out, Gregory did not carry her this time but instead, placed her in her wheelchair and allowed her to move herself.
All the maids in the chateau were dumbstruck seeing her back.
What was happening?
Miss Thomas was kicked out of the chateau for poisoning Miss Lynch, was she not? Why was she back?
Within the crowd, Yuliana was not seen.
Gregory did not tell her about the incident but vaguely hinted at it.
He would not have let her play along for the act.
Now that Vickie was back for real, Yuliana knew that she had no more hope.
They were a match made in heaven and she could never get in between it.
She stood upstairs, watching the two figures stand side by side as they headed back into the chateau. After a brief moment, she turned to go back to her room.
Mr. Osborne was the happiest man alive when he saw Vickie return.
He had been saying that someone as wise as Young Master could never have been so blind. Even an old man like him could see that someone else was behind the poisoning. Young Master still insisted it was Miss Thomas.
Miss Thomas may come off a little cold but her heart was pure and kind. She could never have done it.
Naturally, he was the happiest to see Vickie return.
At the same time it clicked for him, the entire fuss was likely an act.
The old butler was happy as long as the pair was well and safe. He felt relieved.
He chastised the two back to their rooms before busying himself by asking the maids to prepare a good meal today.
After the incident, the kitchen in the secondary building was torn down.
Hence everyone there needed to head to the primary building for meals.
Regardless of the ingredients or the maids in the kitchen, they have all been with Gregory for many years and were extremely trustworthy.
There was no need to worry that anything else would happen.
Vickie had no response to the arrangement.
Yuliana, on the other hand, was a little happy with it. Being able to share meals with Gregory every day was nice.
However, the time where she was to be transferred to the hands of Shimon Flinders grew closer, and the happiness gradually turned to bitter reluctance.
Everyone thought that she was after Gregory for his status and wealth.
At the end of the day though, who knew for sure if she fell for him?
He had the qualifications for many people as a lover.
Handsome, rich, nice body, and most importantly the demeanor of an extraordinary man. A regular guy could never win over him.
Sadly, a man like Gregory never took her to heart to begin with.
With a heavy heart, Yuliana went to the dining hall in the main building for lunch.
