The group of them strolled around until the evening and then went to another upscale restaurant for dinner.
After the meal, Mr. Donnelly asked if they wanted to go to the night market or any entertainment establishments.
However, Nell declined as she felt a little tired.
Mr. Donnelly did not force the issue and sent them back to the hotel.
Though he did not stay here. Since he often came to Country T, he had his own house here, so he spent the night there.
After leaving, Nell asked curiously, “When are we going to the mine?”
Mr. Donnelly smiled. “Tomorrow. Since the mine is a little far from the city, we won’t be able to come back today if we leave now. The place is remote and the security there isn’t as good, so I’m afraid it’s not very safe to stay there at night, but we’ll go there early in the morning tomorrow and come back at night.”
Nell nodded.
When Mr. Donnelly left, she went back to her room to wash up before lying down to rest.
Early the next morning, Mr. Donnelly drove over and picked them up.
This time, he drove a stretch limo.
The car was big enough to fit everyone, and it even had a refrigerator and red wine. Since the drive was more than three hours, they could drink some wine and have fun so they would not be bored.
Given that Nell was pregnant, she naturally did not drink.
Hence Gideon did not drink too, and Sean and Cathy did not drink either.
Thus, in the end, only Mr. Donnelly and Jean had a toast.
The group joked and laughed along the way. Mr. Donnelly was a talkative person and very attentive. He told them about the local conditions and customs while sharing harmless jokes with Jean, creating a very warm atmosphere.
It was almost noon when the car finally stopped.
When they got out of the car, it was desolate all around them. There was no one around, and with the sun shining overhead, it was as if they were in an isolated place.
It was Jean’s first time at a place like this, so she could not help but feel slightly afraid.
She shrank to Gideon’s side and asked, “Mr. Donnelly, where’s the mine you mentioned? You weren’t lying to us, were you?”
Mr. Donnelly laughed. “What are you saying, Ms. Leith? Mines are usually located in locations that are quite remote. If they were near the city, they would have been discovered and excavated by someone long ago. This place is a little far, but we’re almost there. It’s just on the other side of that hill.”
He pointed to a small hill in front of them as he spoke.
Since the hill had not been paved yet, there was only a footpath which the car could not drive on and that was why they stopped here.
Jean looked up at Gideon.
However, Gideon turned to Nell. “Are you tired?”
Nell shook her head.
“Then let’s go take a look.”
She nodded.
Thus, the group began their climb over the small hill and headed over.
After climbing over the hill, they indeed saw a mine opposite them with a cave underneath, where dozens of workers were toiling away.
A sharp-eyed middle-aged man caught sight of Mr. Donnelly and ran over.
“Boss, you’re back.”
Mr. Donnelly smiled and nodded. “Let me introduce you. This is Mr. Leith and his wife, President Jennings. This man is Mr. Miller, Mrs. Miller, and this is Ms. Leith.”
