Chapter 711 Out of Control
Jamie groaned in his heart and pulled the document with more strength. Neither of them was willing to let go until the
two pieces of thin paper were ripped apart.
Skylar looked blankly at the torn paper and panicked. The Jackalin family enjoyed a great reputation in the business
world. As the only daughter of her family, she grew up learning the way of business and knew the importance of the
contract. She panicked and looked at Lucia.
"I didn't mean to. 1..."
Her helpless expression matched her delicate makeup. It was pleasant to look at.
Unperturbed, Lucia reassured her, "It's alright. I have an electronic copy. Don't worry about it."
Her attitude only made Skylar feel more guilty. Losing her brashness, she behaved like a kitten and muttered, "I'll help you glue them back."
She snatched the other half of the paper from Jamie's hand, put them on the table, and carefully put them together. Then she said to Jamie, "Help me get some glue or tape,"
He itched to tell her that the document could no longer be used even if it was put back together. Besides, it was just a
draft. On second thought, he swallowed back his words, silently nodded, and walked away.
Skylar suddenly called out to him, "Wait!"
He looked back at the woman whose eyes were fixed on the signature on the document. She figured out the situation and
glared at him in disbelief.
"It's you!"
"Finally recognize me?" Jamie snorted.
"Asshole, you force me to marry you and molested me in public." She went to his side in a huff, stood on tiptoe, and
yelled at him.
Jamie glared back. "Who wants to marry you? Your family pushed you to me. Take a look at yourself. You're not a fair
lady. I would never marry such a woman."
"Ugh..." Her pretty face flushed, and she grabbed him by the ear, "Say it again, I dare you."
Jamie's miserable cry then came out of the box. Lucia quietly closed the door and muttered to herself. What a small
world! By the time she came out of the bar, it was already midnight. Dragging her feet, she went home, quickly washed
up, and hit the sack.
The next morning, she dressed up, went out of the villa, thought for a moment, and headed to the Vordan Pavilion. She
had been busy dealing with Ethan and the company affairs recently. It had been a long time since she visited Paula.
The lighting was good, but the house was cold and usually quiet. The quietness was a bit scary. Having a bad feeling, she
quickened her pace, rushed into Paula's room, and smelled pungent blood.
"Paula!" She cried out in alarm and snatched the fruit knife in Paula's hand.
The healed wounds were slit open again, and the blood dropped on the pink bed sheet. Paula vacantly looked at Lucia.
Two seconds later, she rushed forward and fanatically tried to get the knife back. Unable to check Paula, she rang the call
bell at the head of the bed and clutched the knife.
"Paula, look at me, I'm Lucia."
"Give it to me, give it to me!" Paula was unresponsive to her words.
All that she could see was the gleaming knife. To get it, she dislocated Lucia's fingers. The sweat trickled down her
forehead. Lucia bit her bottom lip to prevent herself from crying out. That might scare Paula who was in a delirious
state.
Rapid footsteps were heard coming from outside. As if she had realized something, Paula got even more anxious. She
reached out to grab the blade. Lucia's eyes narrowed. Losing no time, she spun the knife with three fingers. The moment

Paula held the hilt, the blade slashed across Lucia's palm. The garish color of the blood somehow pacified Paula. Her hollow pupils regained their focus, and she immediately dropped the knife. Her voice was shaky and choked. "Lucia, I
can't control myself. I'm sorry.
A distressed Lucia held Paula in her arms. Turner interrupted them with a knock on the door. "Madam, the bodyguard
and family doctor have arrived. Dr. Capet is on her way."
"Thank you, Turner." Lucia nodded at the maid, wiped the tears off Paula's face, and soothed her, "It's okay. It's not
your fault. Let the doctor bandage you up, alright?"
Paula nodded lightly, and the doctor immediately came up to treat her wound. Lucia was relieved to see Paula regain her
sanity. From the medical kit, she took out the disinfectant fluid and gauze. Then she started to dress her wound by
herself. Sophie appeared, came to her side, took the gauze from her hand, and treat her wound.
"Ms. Thomas was fine when she received the psychological counseling. Her condition had improved. Have you found out
