Victoria's assistant let out a sigh.
Ever since Lionel talked Victoria out of joining the bid a month ago, their relationship had been awkward.
Lionel had also been trying to make appointments lately but was consistently turned down by Victoria.
Anyone could tell that Victoria was shutting Lionel out because of her disdain toward him.
However, Saunders Group would still need to rely heavily on LG. If Victoria continues to be petty, it could drag down the entire company.
“Ms. Saunders, although our new brand has made a name for itself, it's not yet launched. The previous advertisements are just considered a warm-up at most. Moving forward, as our product enters the market, we'll need to rely on LG to build momentum. You mustn't let jealousy jeopardize the collaboration between our two major corporations.”
Slam!
Victoria slammed her pen fiercely down on her desk.
“Whoever said I'm jealous?”
In the next moment, a low chuckle came from the door. “You're not jealous. It was all my fault. I've come specifically to apologize.”
Victoria sprang up from her chair, glaring at the door with gritted teeth.
Seeing Lionel walk in with calm steps, she angrily said, “What are the security guards doing? How dare they just let anyone in? Are they trying to get themselves fired?”
The assistant turned to Lionel, her lips moving as if to say something, but Lionel cut her off with a wave of his hand.
“You should leave first. Your boss is fuming. Let me see if I can smooth things over.”
The assistant held back a laugh as she stepped out.
She felt that Lionel was always staring at Victoria with a loving gaze.
She couldn't fathom what Victoria was thinking. Lionel was an accomplished man with a successful career. Countless socialites were pining for him.
Only Victoria, who must be out of her mind, would shut someone like him out.
Victoria watched coldly as Lionel approached her desk. She asked coldly, “Who let you in?”
“Your Vice President. He believes that Saunders Group cannot afford to offend LG at the moment, so he dares not leave me hanging. Now that I think about it, his concerns are valid. After all, I hold two-thirds of the global promotional resources. If I don't help Saunders Group gain momentum, you won't even be able to export your products in the next few years, let alone establish a firm footing internationally.”
“You...”
Victoria felt so upset that she didn't want to talk to him anymore. She abruptly sat back down on her chair, then swiveled it around, turning her back on him and facing the floor-to-ceiling window in front of her.
Lionel's smile faded as he walked past her desk and leaned against the table behind her.
“I have anticipated that Lynda would make a move against Saunders Group. That is why I asked you to withdraw from the bidding. See, a slight hiccup from De Lux and Saunders Group is now having trouble finding a distributor to ship your products. A huge amount of finished goods are piled up in the warehouse, unable to reach the market, you—”
Victoria suddenly turned around and roared, “Do you really think that Lynda turned against me just because Saunders Group snatched De Lux's contract away? No, it's not like that. Even if I didn't take this contract, Lynda wouldn't let me off the hook, because I am your ex-wife, Lionel.”
Lionel furrowed his brows.
He didn't particularly like being referred to as the “ex-husband.”
Seeing her puffed cheeks, Lin couldn't help but burst into laughter.
He slowly leaned in toward her ear and whispered, “You're not just my ex-wife, but also the woman I dearly love.”
Victoria froze. Placing a hand on his shoulder, she mustered up the courage and said, “It's work hours now. Either we discuss business, or you leave.”
“Let's talk business,” Lionel said with a smile. “All right, let's get down to it. I believe Saunders Group's future holds great potential. I'm planning to sign a twenty-year term contract with Saunders Group. What do you think?”
Victoria was taken aback, staring at him blankly, momentarily forgetting to respond.
A twenty-year long contract...
She remembers that De Lux would only sign for a maximum of three years each time.
