It seems like they have a pretty solid relationship in private.
Does that woman call him often, and does he always answer when she does?
Sensing a huge turmoil in her own emotions, Victoria gritted her teeth fiercely and strode out of the CEO's office.
Lionel stared at her retreating figure and remained in a daze until the phone stopped ringing. Only when it rang again did he snap back to reality.
Is this woman jealous?
In such a situation, it was either jealousy or genuine indifference.
He would rather it be the former. At least, there was still hope between them.
Looking at the name flashing on the phone screen, he fell silent for a few seconds, but eventually, he answered the call.
He was the one in charge of the LG Corporation, and he could not act recklessly.
De Lux was a long-term business partner and a major client of LG Corporation.
Even though he did not need this icing on the cake, if the relationship soured, the old shareholders of the company would stir up trouble.
He was most afraid of trouble now.
After the call connected, Lynda's delicate voice came through the receiver. “Nell, do you have some time to grab a coffee?”
Lionel frowned and instinctively wanted to refuse.
It seemed as though Lynda had guessed what was on his mind. Without waiting for him to speak, she added, “Let's talk about the Saunders Group's affairs. If you don't show up, I'll assume you're leaving me to deal with Ms. Saunders on my own. In that case, I'll redouble my efforts to take down Saunders Group.”
Lionel gripped his phone tightly.
Can I refuse?
De Lux was the leading force in the fashion industry. They were so dominant that even Bailey's Emmy Boutique could not compete directly with it, let alone the newly established Saunders Group.
This time, Lynda merely cut off Saunders Group's distribution, and Saunders Group's operation was paralyzed.
If Lynda truly embarked on a rampage of revenge, he could not guarantee that Saunders Group would successfully weather the crisis.
Even with Bailey around, he doubted so.
“Where shall we meet?”
“Violet Rosette.”
Lionel furrowed his brows. Violet Rosette was a large entertainment city in Hallsbay. It was a place teeming with all sorts of people. It was common for paparazzi to disguise themselves as customers and lurk around.
He was not too keen on meeting someone of the opposite sex in such a place.
Of course, it was pointless even if he did not want to.
Lynda had deliberately chosen that place. Before he could even refuse, she preemptively said, “I'll wait for you for an hour but not a minute longer.”
After she finished speaking, she immediately ended the call.
Lionel looked at the phone in his hand before glancing around the spacious CEO's office.
Making Saunders Group successful and becoming a female tycoon in the business world had always been her dream.
She was willing to step out of his protection and enter this brutal battlefield. There was no way he could bear to see the fruits of her months of hard work go down the drain.
She was right when she said that he brought Lynda into their lives. If it were not for him, Saunders Group would not be facing such a disaster.
Now that things had already happened, all he could do was to do his utmost to calm Lynda down, so Victoria could have a chance to catch her breath.
He had considered attacking De Lux during this period, but LG Corporation had a strong collaboration with it. If he disregarded professional ethics and took action against his own partner, no other major company would want to cooperate with LG Corporation in the future.
If he made his move, it would bring about destruction within the industry. The entire international market was set to suffer massive damage.
