I'm definitely going to kill him!
The next day, Clarence and Beatrice came to visit the Luther family.
Before they raised the topic of marriage, Felicity took the lead to talk about it.
“Mr. and Mrs. Jefferson, since Ronni is pregnant with a second child, I think it's time to talk about her marriage with Artemis. When you have time, Gerald and I should pay you a visit and discuss further.”
Clarence was overjoyed deep down, but he looked hesitant and pretended to be in a dilemma. “What does Artemis think? After all, they are the ones getting married. If the groom-to-be doesn't agree, it's meaningless for us to say anything.”
In fact, Felicity was determined to let Rhonda marry Artemis.
I know that Zoey is a lot better than Rhonda. Anyone who is rational would choose Zoey over Rhonda. However, she is Waverly's daughter! Waverly is the person I am most jealous of. If her daughter marries into our family, I would never have another happy day in my life.
“Don't worry, Mr. Jefferson. Before I held the press conference yesterday, I tried to ask someone from the public relations department to sound Artemis out. He did not stop me, which proved that he recognized the baby in Ronni's belly. I believe he will agree to the marriage. If you're still worried, I'll let him take Ronni to register the marriage first. What do you think?”
Clarence quickly nodded and said, “Then we need your help to get this done. Now that they have two children, I really think it's time for them to get married.”
“Sure, sure. What Mr. Jefferson said is absolutely right. Artemis is rather busy these two days, and he has not returned home yet. I will talk to him once he is back. You just wait for the good news!”
Meanwhile, at Veronique's laboratory, Bailey walked out of a room with a test report.
Artemis hurriedly stood up from the couch and asked anxiously, “How is it?”
Bailey shook her head and handed the report to him without saying anything.
Artemis took over the report and turned to the last page as he did not have the patience to go through all the data on the front pages.
The sentence on the last page read: Specimen A and Specimen B are not biologically related.
Artemis squeezed the papers tightly, and his eyes flashed with the fire of fury.
It was not surprising that he was so angry. He had been fooled for seven years. Anyone in that situation would be angry too, not to mention Artemis.
Bailey grabbed his arm and said, “Please calm down. This is an expected outcome, isn't it?”
Artemis closed his eyes abruptly and took several deep breaths. When he opened his eyes again, he said, “Bailey, don't you think this is such a coincidence?”
Stunned, Bailey looked at him. “What do you mean?”
Artemis put his hand on her shoulder and said in a hoarse voice, “You and Rhonda gave birth on the same day. Your first child was stillborn. At the same time, she came to the Luther family with an infant whose biological mother was unknown. Don't you think all of these are too coincidental?”
Bailey immediately understood what Artemis was trying to say. His words sent shivers up and down her spine.
“Y-You mean Rhonda took away my first child and pretended to be hers? T-This is impossible. Simon is Zayron and Susan's father, while you are Max's father. How could the three of them be triplets when they have different fathers?”
Artemis rubbed his eyebrows. “Hold on, hold on. Let's not rush to the conclusion. We have to calm down and think carefully about what went wrong.”
With that, he slowly released her and started pacing back and forth in the room.
Bailey froze on the spot for a moment and suddenly lowered her body to pick up the report on the floor. She seemed to have thought of something.
However, she put on a disappointed look after looking at the report for a long while.
Noticing her strange behavior, Artemis squatted beside her and asked anxiously, “What's wrong? Did you find something?”
