At the medical base, Bailey received a call from Zayron, telling her that Lionel had invited Victoria to Aurora Club.
“Bailey, are you not going to Aurora Club to check things out? That's a dodgy place. I'm sure Vicky is going to run into trouble there,” Zayron uttered.
Bailey looked up into the starry sky and replied, “That's her choice, so no one can stop her. I don't think Lionel would go overboard. The most he's going to do is humiliate her and vent his anger.”
Zayron frowned and asked, “Aren't you worried that Lionel might go overboard and let Vicky accompany other men?”
“Probably not.”
“Didn't you say all men are useless? Do you trust that man? His hatred for the Saunders family is through the roof! He's more than capable of destroying Vicky.”
Bailey hesitated when she heard that. “Fine. I think I should go and have a look. By the way, how's Zephyr? Is he doing all right?”
“He's fine. How about Dummy? Is he awake yet?”
“Yes. He is. Stay home and stay safe, okay? I'll go over to Aurora Club. After that, I'll go back to the condominium to check on Zephyr.”
“Okay.”
After hanging up the phone, Bailey turned around and saw Maxton was fast asleep. She then tucked him in and left the ward.
The moment she left, she bumped into Artemis, who was just about to go in.
“Where are you going?” Artemis asked.
“Zayron called me and told me that Lionel had invited Vicky to Aurora Club. I'm worried about what that man is capable of doing to Vicky. I need to go there and have a look.”
“Don't go.” Artemis reached out his arm to stop her. “I've already looked into it. Lionel is going to let Victoria accompany some of his clients.”
“What?” Bailey widened her eyes to stare at him in disbelief.
The next second, she pushed him aside and strode toward the elevator.
Artemis stopped her again and asked, “What do you think you're doing?”
“I'm going to cripple that worthless man.” Bailey was enraged because Victoria was like a sister to her. Zayron and Susan treat her as their mother. How am I supposed to just stand idly by?
Unfortunately, Lionel had crossed her this time.
“That's not necessary.” Artemis pulled her into his embrace and comforted her by saying, “I think this is a good thing. This way, Victoria can finally let him go.”
“Are you saying that I should stand idly by and let a bunch of perverts take advantage of Victoria? Is that what you're suggesting, Artemis?”
“She's going to be fine.” Artemis looked at her confidently. “After I received the news, I called Dwayne and asked him to save her. He also told me that the Saunders family's butler had already informed him before I did. He is already on his way to Aurora Club.”
Bailey was stunned. “Are you suggesting that we should let Dwayne save Victoria?”
“Bay, Dwayne is my friend, so there's a reason why I've done so. I hope that he can get the woman he loves. Let's just give him the chance to do so. Victoria is already hurt. If Victoria is still not convinced after seeing Dwayne showing up as her knight in shining armor, perhaps they're just not meant to be.”
Bailey slumped into his embrace and said, “You're right. Vicky is hurt, all right. She needs a person to save her, and Dwayne is the perfect person to do so. If possible, I really hope that she can snap out of it and start a new chapter in life.”
“Don't worry. She'll turn over a new leaf and start over.”
