Right after he finished speaking, an object flew toward him.
“F*ck.”
Artemis dodged at once, staggering a few steps backward. However, after steadying himself, he realized what the object was and reached out unwillingly to catch it.
He had no other choice.
That was Bailey's phone, and he was sure that the woman would give him a hard time if it was damaged.
Dwayne sneered before saying in a mocking tone, “Seems like you're worse than me. I dare you to touch Bailey, but I bet you won't even get to feel the corners of her blouse.”
Artemis was rather speechless when he heard that.
Just then, Bailey walked over with a frosty expression and sized the two men up before saying snarkily, “Have you guys been lonely for too long? Need me to arrange something for you?”
Fine! Even though I can't offend her, I can avoid her!
Dwayne snubbed out his cigarette and started walking toward Justin's room. “I'll take Justin's room. You guys can feel free to pick any of the remaining rooms you like. Anyway, Bailey, Artemis seems rather energetic lately. I think you should interact with him on a deeper level and balance out your energies. That's better for health.”
Bailey rolled her eyes after hearing that.
The next moment, she was pinned against the wall by Artemis, who was standing next to her.
Not again!
“Finally, that guy has said something right. Bailey, I am indeed feeling excessively energetic lately, and I need your help to drain off some of it.” Without speaking any further, Artemis pressed his lips against Bailey's.
When Victoria woke up the next morning, subconsciously, the first thing she did was look at her body.
“What's the matter? Weren't you very brave last night? Why would you care about your innocence now?”
A familiar voice rang out. Victoria turned toward the sound of the voice and saw Bailey munching on a piece of watermelon. “Bay, I think I can finally let go now.”
“Stop.” Bailey gestured for Victoria to stop talking before letting out a cold snort and said, “Show me then. Actions speak louder than words.”
Victoria sighed as she struggled to sit up. “You're always so sharp with your words. Fine! I'll use my actions to prove it. I'm hungry now. Where's my breakfast?”
Before the woman even asked for it, Bailey had already taken out a bottle of warm milk and some snacks from a thermal container.
“What are your plans?”
Without answering, Victoria picked up the milk and drank a few gulps. After soothing her throat, she said, “I'll return to the condominium which he had arranged for me to stay at. Then, I'll just wait and see what else he can do to degrade me further.”
Just as Bailey was about to speak, Victoria cut her off with a dismissive wave.
“Bay, you want me to stop waiting for him because there would never be a positive outcome, right?”
Bailey fell silent.
She was no fool and understood what Victoria meant by that.
Do you really have to do that? Are you only going to give up after you are completely beaten and bruised?
Reading Bailey's thoughts, Victoria smiled and said, “Yup. I guess I'll only wake up and give up completely after I'm completely bruised and battered. So, stop persuading me and just let me be.”
Bailey nodded and replied, “Fine. I'll respect your choice. I'm glad that you didn't think of ending your life even after what happened last night. Vicky, I trust that you will not give up on life easily.”
Victoria responded with a smile.
