“Hah! The whole of Tarragon knows that Yvette wants to be married to you and make you hers, but what's this? After seeing Leader's face, the woman has fallen head over heels for him and is planning to cheat on you!”
Micah furrowed his brows, and a sharp glint flashed in his eyes.
If this guy isn't Shannon's brother, he'll definitely get a taste of my fists.
“Why? Don't like it? Or do you think I'm wrong? Your woman was blatantly seducing the leader in front of all the executives. What a joke. You should be crowned loser of the year!” he continued.
After lifting his head and glaring at Holden, Micah said solemnly, “Cut the crap. Let me ask you. How are you going to help Shanny?”
Immediately, the smirk on Holden's face disappeared. He got up and walked to the door. “It has nothing to do with you. Of course, if you want revenge for your son, I can help you with that. I'll never let a single one of those who harmed my sister get away with this.”
Micah tightly pursed his lips and said with gritted teeth, “I want to meet Shannon. Let me see her.”
Instantly, Holden stopped dead in his tracks. Turning around to look at him, he enunciated his next words clearly, “Before my sister is proven innocent, I'll never let you meet her. I'll never let you near her either if the murderer is not caught.”
After saying that, he suddenly sneered as if something had occurred in his mind. “Come to think of it; we don't need to dirty our hands anymore. Since that woman messed with Leader, she's dead.”
Despite saying all that, Holden thought otherwise. He had to investigate the truth behind his sister's lost arm and the death of his nephew.
If Yvette was really the culprit, then too bad. She'll need to pay for my sister's lost arm and my nephew's life.
After Micah watched Holden leave the study, the former left the room too.
When Micah passed by the living room, he met Wendy, who was going up to the second floor with a bowl of soup in her hands.
“Ms. Hoffman,” he stopped her. “How's Shannon doing?”
Wendy gave him a side glance, eyeing him closely before saying, “Her external wounds are almost healed, but if you ask me, she's as good as dead without a heart.”
Micah staggered two steps backward.
Even though he knew she was overcome with sadness, it was a little too much for him to bear when another person jabbed at him with that.
“I know she can't move around easily, but please take care of her during this period. I'll be forever in your debt, Ms. Hoffman.”
Hesitating slightly, Wendy suggested, “Actually, she still has a lot on her mind, like her son's death. If you truly love her, Mr. Neyman, help her get revenge on her son's killer. If it drags on any longer, I'm afraid she'll become colder and colder, eventually turning into an emotionless doll.”
With that, she carried the bowl of soup up the stairs.
Micah was left standing in the middle of the living room. Lifting his head, he stared in the direction of Shannon's room on the second floor, ignoring the spreading pain in his chest.
He knew their relationship had reached a dead end, and they had no way of freeing themselves from the pain. However, he was contented with protecting her from afar.
When they got their revenge, he would follow her wherever she went. He would not force her to do anything and silently guard her.
At Hallsbay Prison, Victoria sat in the visiting room, dressed in black with a white flower on her head.
Then the door was pushed open, and Victor emerged, escorted by two prison guards.
As he saw her in a black dress with the white flower on her head, Victor was stunned for a moment.
