Suddenly There Are Three (Bailey and Artemis) novel Chapter 657

Chapter 657 Threat

What do I think? I think it's a nice plan.

The plan would not only get rid of Bailey but also eliminate Yvette, killing two birds with one stone while completely eradicating future troubles. There could not have been a better outcome.

“I think your plan is impeccable, Mom. That way, all the obstacles that stand in my way will be eliminated. Our next step is to position me by Artemis' side. But... I am at a loss as to what identity I should assume to accomplish this.”

Sofie's lips curved upwards into a sly smile as she spoke. “Dear, don't you forget that Artemis has lost all memories of Bailey. To him, you are still the savior who sacrificed herself for him. For this reason, I doubt he will mistreat you. Without intervention from Bailey, I have no doubt that his heart will soon be yours as long as you put in some effort.”

An elated expression flashed across Zoey's face. Indeed, she is right! How could I have overlooked such a crucial detail?

Artemis currently suffered from amnesia, rendering him incapable of recalling anything about Bailey or any matter related to her.

Hence, Zoey's image in his heart remained as the kind savior from years ago. Were it not for Bailey's meddling previously, Zoey believed she would not have been subjected to such a wretched fate.

Now, with Bailey out of the picture, Zoey could return to Artemis' side as his savior, and with the cunning tricks up her sleeve, she could win his adoration.

In the past, she didn't even have the chance to put her plan into action. Fate didn't grant her such an opportunity, and Bailey ended up taking advantage of the situation.

Now, she must seize this opportunity to make Artemis hers and prevent any other woman from taking advantage.

“Your advice is greatly appreciated, Mom. I know what I should do now, and I eagerly await your good news. Once Bailey and Yvette are out of the way, I can have a chance to approach Artemis. And once I'm by his side, I will do anything I can to ensure he becomes completely enamored with me.”

Sofie murmured an acknowledgment.

“I haven't been by your side for all these years, and I know I owe you a lot. Now that you've grown up, you don't need my compensation, and you're also no longer at the age where you require maternal love. Therefore, the only thing I can offer you is to help you become the matriarch of the Luther family and the lady of Tarragon. With these two identities, you will never be bullied by anyone and will be the most powerful woman in this world. This is my way of compensating you for the motherly love you have lacked all these years. However, your future is in your own hands. This is the best I can do for you. Whether or not you can win Artemis' heart will depend on yourself.”

Zoey hugged Sofie's arm and smiled. “Thank you, Mom. I will always remember your guidance and assistance. If there is anything you need my help with in the future, just let me know. I will utilize every resource at my disposal to help you as best I can.”

“We'll talk about that once our plan succeeds. For now, you don't need to do anything. Just stay at home and wait for my news. Bailey and Yvette are like lambs waiting to be slaughtered by the butcher. They have nowhere to run. So, don't be too anxious. You will receive news in a few days,” advised Sofie.

“Okay.”

Juliana regained consciousness in the master bedroom of the Hoffman residence. As she opened her eyes, she fixated her gaze on the delicate crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling while in a daze. Her mind was still having trouble processing what was going on.

Where am I? Is this my room? How did I come back here?

The scene before she lost consciousness flashed through her mind, causing her pupils to constrict in horror.

She then felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen and instinctively reached out to touch it.

As she moved, the pain became more intense and obvious.

A sense of foreboding swelled in her heart, and she struggled to sit up. However, her body felt weak and feeble, forcing her to slump back down.

What happened to my child? Did I have a miscarriage?

Before losing consciousness, she recalled being poisoned. She wondered if the poison didn't kill her but instead took away the life of the fetus growing in her womb.

Oh my goodness! This can't be real! I don't want anything but to give birth to this child safely and soundly and send him away so that he could grow up happily. This child is my only hope and motivation to keep living. Why take that away from me, too? My world is already consumed by darkness. Now that my child is gone, I no longer have a reason to live!

A low sob escaped her throat, and tears streamed down her face.

Creak!

The doorknob turned, and the door was pushed open.

Juliana instinctively turned her face away and wiped the tears on her face.

She didn't want anyone to see her in such a disheveled state.

“Ms. Juliana, Mr. Quincy is here to see you,” reported the maid outside the door respectfully.

There was no response from Juliana. She stared at the floor-to-ceiling window in a daze, her eyes filled with visible sorrow.

I suppose this is fate. Zeke has a fiancée, and she's carrying his child. Perhaps God has severed the last connection I have with Zeke because He doesn't want me to destroy their marriage.

Quincy, the most superior elder of the Hoffman family, stepped in and spoke. “You know what they say, kid, surviving a great disaster means you're bound for good fortune. This experience will be a good lesson for you, and I hope you can learn from it to understand your place better. Since you didn't bring any major disaster to the family, we won't make things difficult for you. We previously mentioned imprisoning you in the dungeon for the rest of your life, but after careful consideration, we have decided to grant you your freedom. But you are not allowed to leave the residence at all. I think Huntley is a good match for you. He has feelings for you, and you have been very protective of him, too. Why don't we set a date and have you marry him?”

Juliana slowly turned toward Quincy, her gaze cold. Sneering, she said, “Are the lot of you really granting me freedom out of the kindness of your hearts? What a joke. Since you've made this request, there must be conditions attached. Tell me what you want me to do first. I want to know how unscrupulous you can get.”

Quincy cleared his throat, feeling awkward about being humiliated by someone younger than himself.

“It's nothing big, really. We just want you to make a phone call to Zeke personally and explain to him that your miscarriage was an accident and it was not our family's fault. As long as you can do this, I will immediately release you and let you marry Huntley, granting you both a peaceful life,” Quincy said.

When she heard that, Juliana couldn't help but burst into laughter. So this is their true intention. I can't believe I'm still of value to them! It makes sense, though. If I'm no longer useful to them, this old geezer wouldn't even bother to come and visit me in person, let alone grant me freedom and give me a happy ending.

Juliana had a feeling that the family was concerned about the possibility of Zeke seeking revenge against them if he ever found out that they had poisoned her and caused her to miscarry.

However, Juliana believed that their worries were unfounded. Now that Zeke had his own happy family, he wouldn't risk offending the prominent, well-established Hoffman family just for her sake.

“What if I refuse? Will you all kill me if I refuse?” Juliana asked.
