Chapter 114
The words “matching set for couples” popped into Larissa’s mind, and she quickly rejected the klea. The most reasonable answer to this was that he bought all the slippers in the store for convenience. If she looked in his shoe cabinet, she would find What? Nothing inside?
This discovery was unexpected, and she suddenly found the slippers uncomfortable.
Then, Kevan put their shoes back into the cabinet. When he turned back, he saw Larissa staring at the shoe cabinet with a complicated gaze. He wasn’t sure what she was thinking about.
“What’s the matter?” he asked.
Only then did Larissa return to her senses and force a smile. “Nothing.”
“Come in.” Kaven ignored her. He took off his jacket and simply threw it on the sola.
Larissa followed his order and sat on the edge of the sola while Kaven entered the kitchen.
His kitchen was open, so she could clearly see him opening the freezer door and fumbling through it. When he came back, he’d golfen her an ice pack.
“Put it on your cheek.” He put the ice pack on her swollen face. The sudden coldness made her shudder, and she shrank back.
Kevan sat beside her and stared at her face.
“How did this happen?” he asked deliberately.
Larissa locked down and said, “I met a difficult guest”
Then, she chuckled, “I should’ve listened to you and waited a few more days before returning to work.”
Kaven pursed his lips and saw the sadness in her eyes.
“Do you need my help? His voice was still cold, but there was also some gentleness to it.
“It’s fine,” she laughed. The ice made her face go numb, and she stuck the ice pack lighter to her face.
“What about you – She tumed to look at him closely and asked. “Are you feeling better?”
When they returned from the hospital yesterday, he couldn’t even stand. Right now, it seemed like his complexion was redder. He was
speaking and walking normally.
“I’m fine.” Kevan said while leaning his head toward her.
“You can touch it if you don’t believe me.”
Larissa touched his forehead and felt the temperature was colder than her palms. Only then did
the
relax.
Suddenly, her stomach grumbled as she had not eaten the whole day. Instantly, she blushed while Kevan smiled.
