Chapter 146
“What?” Larssa instinctively hid the paper bag behind her back and smiled awkwardly. “No, It’s not for you.”
Lana stepped forward, proudly holding the bag up in her hand as if it were a precious treasure. Enthusiastically, she piped up. “This is the one for you!
Kevan gave her a nonchalant glance, showing little interest in Lana’s gift. “Let’s go to my office,” Kevan said as he grabbed Larissa’s hand.
The astounding scene left everyone’s jaws dropped in disbelief.
Gritting her teeth in anger. Lama tralled after the two of them.
Kevan’s office turned out to be smaller than what Larissa had imagined. It was about the same size as his bedroom. It was divided into two areas, a workspace and a reception area for guests.
The workspace had a desk, a few chairs, and a large bookshelf filed with books. The reception area had only a sola and a colles table.
Despite its small size, the office locked spacious due to the lack of boundaries between the two areas. The monochrome design of the office, with predominantly black, white, and gray colors, gave it a sleek and sophisticated feel. Based solely on pictures, many people would likely mistake his office for his study at home.
Kevan led Larissa to sit on the sofa. He rested his arm between her back and the sofa, almost wrapping her in his embrace, Fixing his gaze on Larissa attentively, he asked. “Why did you come? There was a hint of tendemess are concern in his deep voice.
Although Larissa knew he was just acting in front of Lana, his close proximity mace her uncomfortable, so she turned her lace away.
“It’s Lana.” She looked towards Lana, who was standing stiffly beside them. “She wanted to thank you for what happened last night,”
Forcing a smile. Lana bent over and placed the bag she was holding on the coffee table in front of Kevan
She had probably gone back to the hotel to change on purpose. Lana wasn’t wearing the hoodie she had borrowed from Larissa earlier. Now, she wore a loose–fitting, baggy gray sweater. It had quite a wide neckline. When Lara leaned forward, Larissa could even see the black lace bra she wore underneath.
“Thank you so much for last night. Mr. Rogers. This is a small token of my appreciation. Please accept it.” Lana blushed with a shy smile..
“Thank you.” Kevan’s eyes were glued to Larissa’s lace the whole time. He did not glance in Lana’s direction even when speaking to her.
Although Kevan gave her the cold shoulder, it didn’t seem to faze Lana
Leaning over the coffee table, she retrieved a thermos and a three–tiered insulated lunch box from the bag.
Immediately, Kevan realized that she had taken al. these things from Larissa’s house, Larissa had brought the same containers during their last visit to Starry Mountain, Only then did he show some Interest and take a closer look. “What did you bring?”
“Oh, some lunch for you.” Lana replied sweetly as she was pleasantly surprised by his Inillative to engage in conversation.
With a beaming smile, she opened the thermos, and the office was instantly filled with a rich, aromatic smell
*This is the mushroom soup I made, as well as some barbecued pork ribs and roasted chicken,” Lana replied as she unpacked the lunch box and arranged the liers in order,
Kevan asked Larissa. “Who made these dishes?”
Lana gave Larissa a desperate look, gesturing for her to keep this a secret.
Larissa smiled and said, “Of course, Lana cooked these dishes personally. Furthermore, she went to the supermarket early in the morning to buy the ingredients herself.”
