Lana’s desire was admirable and worthy of respect, However, in Larissa’s eyes, her sister’s decision to give up everything and start anew in Covenford seemed too hasty and even impulsive. Uimately, Larissa believed that Lana’s smooth–salling life, coupled with her lack of encounters with many setbacks, had led her to view the workplace as child’s play. 

“Finding a job isn’t easy, especially for someone like you who isn’t a recent graduate and lacks substantial work experience. It might be challenging to land a position in a big company.” Larissa cautioned. 

However, Lana brushed off the concem. “Well I can ask my friends to introduce me to job opportunities. I have quite a few friends, and they are in various industries. Besides, my main goal is to gain experience, so I don’t have high salary expectations.” 

Since Lana had made up her mind. Larissa saw no need to convince her otherwise. Lana would learn when to retreat if she faced setbacks, although she might also choose to persist. Ultimately, it was Lana’s life, and Larissa did not feel overly concerned about it. 

“It’s getting late. You should take a shower and get some rest” Larissa rose to her feet as she spoke, but Lana immediately grabbed Larissa’s hand. 

“Larissa,” Lana looked up at her sister with pitiful eyes. “ILI stay in Covenford, can I move in and live with you?” 

Larissa had been waiting for Lana to ask that. Now that Lana finally did, it confirmed that Larissa truly understood her sister. Unfortunately. the same might not be true in reverse. 

“I can accommodate you for a week at most. If you haven’t found a job or a place to stay within that time, you’ll return to Bartham, forget about being independent, and continue being the little princess” at home.” Larissa stated firmly. 

Lana hesitated for a moment before finally nodding. “Okay.” 

Lana moved in with Larissa. However, Larissa was busy the whole time Lana was there and did not have much time to care for her sister. Occasionally, she would cook a meal or two for Lana when she was home during the day, but the rest of the time. Lana had to eat out or order takeout. 

Lucas would often call Larissa. At first, he would apologize for his actions, but later he would subtly ask about Lana’s situation. He even swallowed his pride and begged Larissa. “Nana wants to break up with me and has blocked me on her phone and social media. Can you talk to her and try to change her mind?” 

Although Larissa had forgiven Lucas for his previous rudeness, she had decided to minimize her contact with him since then. She had never been fond of interfering in other people’s relationships, so she would straightforwardly reject his requests each time. “You need to figure things out on your own, I can’t help you with that ” 

As the week was coming to an end, one evening, when Larissa returned home, she found that Lana had prepared a table full of dishes and even opened an expensive bottle of champagne. 

Lana proudly announced, “Larissal Iound a job and a place to live!” 

Lana had pursued a major in classical dance during her college years, and her role at their family company as “Assistant Director of the Artist Department” was seen by Larissa as more of an idle position. As a result, Lana’s work experience lacked a competitive edge in the professional world, and this made Larissa curious about what kind of job Lana had managed to secure. 

“Well my friend works as a talent agent at StreamWave Studios. Recently, the studio signed a lew new anchors, and they are in need of agents to manage them. So, my friend recommended me for the position, Lana explained. 

Being a talent agent was somewhat related to her previous job, although it was far more demanding than being an “Assistant Director.” Larissa was worried that her sister might struggle with the new role. However, aller seeing Lana’s excitement, she didn’t have the heart to dampen Lana’s spints. She simply patted Lana’s shoulder and smiled, saying, “You’ve got this.” 

Lana insisted on celebrating with drinks, so Larissa joined her for a couple of drinks. Then, she remembered something and asked, “So, where will you be living?” 

“My friend is also living alone here in Foxtail Garden, so I plan to share an apartment with her. And guess what? She lives in the same building as us! Isn’t it a coincidence? Lana’s eyes sparkled with excitement.
