Gary's body jolted as if he were awakened from a dream.
Immediately, the sadness and nostalgia in his eyes disappeared in a flash.
He smiled helplessly and said, "Alright, I'll listen to your advice."
The assistant's jaw dropped open with surprise.
When Gary shot him a warning glare, he quickly regained his composure and put on a poker face.
Gary got into the ambulance, accompanied by his assistant and Larissa.
When they arrived at the hospital, the doctor conducted a brief examination and quickly came to a conclusion.
"There's nothing major to be worried about. Just make sure to take your medication on time, avoid excessive fatigue, and don't put too much pressure on yourself."
Gary looked at Larissa triumphantly. "See, what did I say?"
Larissa pursed her lips, but Gary's assistant interrupted her before she could speak, "Mr. Logan, since you're already at the hospital, why not stay for observation and undergo a few more tests?"
Gary frowned as he thought his assistant was going overboard.
However, his assistant ignored Gary's displeasure and continued tattling to Larissa, "I'm a bit concerned since Mr. Logan had two seizures yesterday. The attacks are becoming more frequent than before."
Larissa's heart almost stopped when she heard this.
With a dark expression on his face, Gary scolded his assistant, "Lewis, you're getting too big for your boots."
Trembling, the assistant beseeched her, "Ms. Seymour, please convince Mr. Logan to undergo the tests. He never listens to my advice!"
"Lewis Logan!" Out of anger, Gary raised his voice unintentionally.
The assistant stared at Larissa, his eyes pleading.
Larissa nodded. "Alright, I'll go get the doctor."
"Larissa!" Gary reached out to stop her, but his fingertips only managed to graze her clothes before she slipped away.
"Resembles my daughter?" Gary laughed bitterly. "I've only seen my daughter once, right after she was born. How would I know if she resembles my daughter or not?"
"I saw the way you looked at her in the hotel …" Lewis could remember it clearly.
At that moment, Gary was looking at Larissa, but it seemed as if he was reminiscing about someone from long ago.
"I was reminded of that woman." Gary's expression turned cold.
Larissa's assertiveness bore a close resemblance to that woman, even to the point where he could see traces of her mannerisms in Larissa's actions.
Gary himself was startled at the sudden thought that came to his mind.
"Lewis!" he called out anxiously.
"What's wrong?" Lewis thought that Gary was feeling unwell again and quickly stepped forward to help him sit up.
With a trembling hand, Gary gripped Lewis's arm tightly and hissed through gritted teeth, "You need to help me with something …"
