Sweet Subterfuge novel by Trina Duo novel Chapter 568

The soft layers of pastry enveloped in dense cream and the tangy mango chunks slid across her tongue. The delicate texture and multiple layers of sweetness made Larissa sigh in delight.

Since she was forced to eat nothing but bland food and supplements for the last few days, Larissa was moved to the point of tears at this moment.

If she wasn't bound to the bed, she would have hugged Kevan out of sheer gratitude, exclaiming, "You're my savior!"

Although the satisfied expression on Larissa's face was evident, the rest of the people in the ward felt different emotions that were evoked by her joy.

The smile on Kevan's face widened and he stared at Larissa with a look of fondness and love, almost overflowing with affection.

Conversely, a stony expression appeared on Gary's face. He pursed his lips and muttered with disapproval, "You shouldn't eat this much junk food in the future."

Larissa simply acted as if she didn't hear what he said.

It was Kevan who responded politely, "Okay, Uncle Gary."

Previously when they met, he addressed Gary by Mr. Logan, and yet this time he switched to addressing him as Uncle Gary.

Gary gritted his teeth, displeased with Kevan's impudence and overfamiliarity. "Mr. Rogers, we are not that close to be addressing each other on a first-name basis."

Caught off guard by Gary's remark, the fork in Kevan's hand froze in mid-air.

Larissa could only stare helplessly at the cake. She stretched her neck as far as she could to reach the elusive bite of cake, but she was unable to move any closer.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Logan," Kevan hung his head and apologized sincerely to Gary.

He could vaguely guess the reason why Gary bore so much hostility toward him. Kevan didn't dare to act recklessly, not because Gary was the CEO of Blue Star Shipping, but because he was Larissa's biological father.

Kevan could see that Gary genuinely cared for Larissa, so he wanted to show utmost respect to him.

Gary snorted and turned to Larissa, asking her in earnest, "Lari, do you want anything else to eat? I will go and get it for you."

"There's no need." Larissa shook her head and looked at Kevan again. Unable to resist the sweetness of the mango mille crepe, she instinctively licked her lips.
