Chapter 748
Lewis’ voice was very loud. Even if Larissa did not put her phone on speaker, Kevan could hear every single word Lewis said.
“What do you mean? Larissa did not understand. “Didn’t you tell him to take me home?”
She looked at Kevan in the driver’s seat in confusion.
Kevan’s face remained unchanged, but he pressed down harder on the gas pedal.
Lewis suddenly was not angry anymore. His voice was much calmer than before. “I did tell him to bring you home.”
Larissa was confused, “What’s going on?”
“I did tell Mr. Rogers to bring you home,” Lewis said. “Uncle Gary was next to me earlier. I was afraid that he might kill me, so I had to act a
bit.”
Larissa did not know why Lewis did not tell her before letting Kevan take her away. Still she was reassured after she got confirmation from Lewis. At least, this was not some kidnapping” scheme that Kevan planned.
“Text me once you get home. I’ll be waiting for you at the company tomorrow, Just call me when you get there. I pick you up.” Lewis
instructed her.
“Okay,” Larissa replied.
Kevan only slowed the car down after Larissa hung up. “Do you want to sleep for a bit?” he asked Larissa. “There’s still almost an hour
before we get home.”
It was quite a long time, and Larissa did not have anything else better to do. “Okay,”
She did not know where Kevan got his car from. The inside of the car was quite cozy. There were all kinds of soft toys as well as a pillow
and blanket for sleeping.
Smelling the lavender in the car, Larissa fell asleep against the car door,
Kevan’s heart only calmed down after seeing her last asleep through the rearview mirror.
“Lari?” He called her in a careful manner. Seeing that there was no response, he only stopped the car by the roadside.
His muted phone indeed had a lot of messages. Some were from Dylan, and there was one from Lewis. Dylan was asking him where he had gone off to, and he was also complaining about the trouble with Cody. As for Lewis–there was only a smiling emoji from him.
Kevan was aware of what the emoji meant.
Kevan texted back a “thank you.”
Thank you to Lewis for covering for him, thus preventing a huge light between him and Larissa,
