Kevan gazed at the top of her head as he controlled his urge to touch it. He changed to a lighter topic. “How was your first day at Blue Star? Okay? 

“Yeah, it wasn’t bad.” Larissa’s fingers moved from the bed to her back. She rubbed at the place that ached. “It’s just that I sat for the whole day, and didn’t feel so good. 

She used to work in a hotel, so she rarely sat down for the whole day. As a result, she did not get a cushion like her other colleagues. Without support for so long, her back ached so much it could not even stay straight. 

“Want me to massage for you?” Kevan asked as he drew out a sheet of tissue to cken his hand.

“Okay.” Larissa agreed quickly, but she was thinking that no matter how uncomfortable she was tomorrow, she would never say a thing! 

The next day, the morning seemed to repeat from yesterday–except that Wendy was not there. 

Before leaving the house, Larissa ignored the persuasion from both Kevan and Aster, insisting on changing out of her ankle–length down jacket to the latest Burberry windbreaker. It was matched with a thin white shirt that would not keep her warm as well as a pair of wide- legged trousers. Such a mature and elegant ollice lady look naturally could not be ruined by the furry Ugg loafers. 

The swell on her ankle was almost gone from the combined efforts of Kevan and Lewis during these two days. Larissa boldly changed into a pair of thin high heels. Under the unhappy stares of Kevan and Aster, Larissa threw back a ‘It’s none of your business,” before rushina out of the house with her bag. 

Aster stared helplessly at Larissa’s retreating figure. He turned to Kevan for help aller a moment. “Daddy, say something to Mommy! How can she be like that?” 

Kevan pressed his lips together, but his face did not show much emotion. “Your mommy’s an adult. She can take responsibility for her own actions,” he said.
