Chapter 770
“What’s with the commotion? Are you guys out of work to do? Lewis warned coldly.
Everyone froze. They were agitated for one second and went totally silent the next.
Lewis walked over while everyone scattered away from Larissa and back to their seals. They buried themselves in their work, fearing meeting his eyes.
Judy was flustered lon. She wiped her tears off and slightly lowered her head. She snited loudly, drawing Lewis‘ attention.
He frowned ard questioned Larissa, “What happened?
She took a deep breath and kept her cool.
She had never thought of catastrophizing things from the beginning, let alone letting Lew’s and Gary find out about it.
Otherwise, things would go out of hand.
“Judy and I had a disagreement about work. It was a small dispute. Larissa tried to make it sound as trivial as possible.
However, the others look her compromise as a sign of quill.
Judy dipped her head lower wordlessly. Tears flowed down her cheeks again.
There was a pool of tears on her desk in no time.
“Judy, it seems like you disagree with what Larissa said.” Lewis arched a brow.
He acted like a sharp and considerate superior. “Tell me. What’s going on?”
She sobbed for a moment before saying. ‘She’s telling the truth.”
On top of her dodgy gaze, her hunched posture seemed to indicate that she was a victim.
Larissa deemed it a waste of her acting skills it no one awarded her an Oscar.
His gaze and tone softened. “If you trust me, you can tell me the truth.”
He cast a glance at Larissa. “I will never condone power abuse within Blue Star Shipping. It that event comes to pass-”
He dragged his voice on purpose before announcing. “The perpetrator will be fired.”
Judy and the female colleagues, who had previously bullied Larissa, were scared cut of their wits.
“Actually, I’m the one to blame for what happened today,” Judy confessed.
“I borrowed Larissa’s computer and printer to print same documents. While I was deleling my liles on her desktop. I accidentally deleted her slideshow. It’s important to her because she needs it to present a report to you tomorrow. That’s why she asked me to redo it for her.”
She emphasized the word “accidentally in an attempt to avoid responsibility.
“Is she telling the truth?” inquired Lewis sternly.
Larissa nodded. “Yes.”
She didn’t wish for him to take her side, so she didn’t expose her lies. The rumors spreading among the staff were a lot more than she
imagined.
