Chapter 799
“Cant | be curious? Lewis reached out to grab his phone when he saw that Larissa refused to say it. “If you don’t tell me, I’ll call Marilyn
right now
Larissa hurriedly stole his phone from him and gave In helplessly. “I’ll say it! Don’t make things hard for Marilyn!”
Lewis smirked victoriously and waited for Larissa’s answer.
“The guy I was talking about Larissa sucked in a deep breath as she prepared for hersell to be “killed” by Lewis. “Is you.”
Lewis’ face showed that he knew it. Yet, he wasn’t particularly unhappy. “Where did you get this conclusion from?” He asked her earnestly. “I don’t remember ever being interested in guys in front of you.”
“But you never showed interest in women in front of me either!” Larissa fired back at him. “Look at you, You’re almost forty, and you still don’t have a girfriend. How could people not overthink things then?”
Lewis’ face darkened. He defended himself “Just because I don’t have a girlfriend now doesn’t mean I didn’t use to have them.”
“Then why did you stop female employees from liking you?” Larissa argued.
“Because it will affect my work.” Lewis’ eye twitched as he recalled how those women tried to seduce him. His temples ached,
He continued. “Coming randomly into my ollice to pour me coffee and give me snacks. Some even got naked and jumped at me. If it were
you, could you stand it?”
Larissa imagined it. “Nope.” Her emotions died quicky. “But-haven’t you decided to find someone to get married yet?”
“Why are you the same as those naggy relatives now? Lewis scored her. “I never pressed you to lind a partner. Yet, here you are.
pressing me to get one!”
“I’m not pressing you to get a partner! I care about you!” Larissa corrected him. “Since my dad has all the free time in the world to arrange blind dates for me, why doesn’t he arrange some for you? No, I’ve got to talk to him about this!”
“Hold it right there! Lewis stopped her as he began to beg for mercy. “My dear cousin, leave it, please? It’s not time for me to marry yet, and I’m not in a hurry. Uncle Gary finally left me alore to focus on you. Just let me have some time to myself and take a break, huh?”
“So you want me to lake all the attacks for you? Larissa raised an eyebrow,
“Don’t you have Mr. Rogers? He won’t let you take all the attacks. Don’t worry.” Lewis was confident in Kevan, “Oh, by the way, there’s something I need to tell you. I forgot about it because of you and Marilyn.”
Although Larissa thought the way Lewis changed topics was a bit stiff, she still let him speak. “What is it?”
“I met your friend when I was paying earlier, Aster’s godma.”
“Wendy?” Larissa was surprised.
“Yeah, her.” Lewis nodded. “She recognized me and said hello to me.”
Larissa’s curiosity grew. Wendy should be very busy during these few days. She did not even have time to come home. Why would she come all the way here to eat?
“Was she alone? Did you tell her that I was here? Larissa asked.
“There was a man with her. They must have been together. But I don’t know if there was anyone else. I told her you were here, and her reaction — hmm how to say was a bit panic end? She did not seem comfortable either. She said she needed to accompany her friend. and decided not to find you.
“I’m not familiar with her, so I didn’t ask much.” Lewis said.
