It was not strange to have a meal with a friend of the opposite gender, but Lewis‘ description of Wendy’s reaction made Larissa suspicious. 

Panicked, uncomfortable. Wendy even deliberately avoided Larissa. 

No matter how it looked. Wendy did not seem to be just friends with that guy she was with. 

Larissa quickly texted Wendy via WhatsApp. “You got a situation going on?” She watched the words “bro name for a few minutes before it disappeared. No new message appeared in the chat.

Seeing Larissa throw her phone back into her bag as well as hearing the happy snort she let out, Lewis looked at her and asked. “You’re 

happy?” 

*Not bad. I guess.” Larissa said lightly. There was a hint of a smile on her face. 

She never expected that this day would come. When she was pregnant with Aster, Wendy told her that she was the kind of woman who would never marry. 

Having been “roommates with Wendy for so long, Larissa had truly not seen any man appear around her friend in a close way before. 

But Wendy was definitely a romantic, Larissa could tell from all the romantic teen dramas that Wendy liked to watch during her free time. It was just that Wendy’s love life was rather hard. 

She either didn’t like the men she managed to connect with, or their perspectives didn’t align. As a result, long–term relationships eluded them. Consequently, Wendy remained single to avoid “jinxing” potential partners. 

How nice it was for Wendy to have something romantic coming her way now. 

Larissa really wanted to see who that man was since he could “defeal” the “demonic” Wendy. 

Larissa was still self–quarantining at home as her cold was not gone. 

Kevan and Aster were playing with building blocks in the living room, Larissa returned to her room after she finished showering. 

In the middle of everything, Kevan brought her medication with a glass of warm water. He also took her temperature again, 

“No matter what time you go out tomorrow, you will wait for me to send you to work,” he ordered her coldly. “If you don’t eat breakfast, i won’t let you go to work. There’s no use even if you look for Mr. Logan.” 

Larissa knew he would do as promised, so she quietly said, “Okay.” 

Only then did Kevan’s lace soften. He ruffled her hair and said softly, “Sleep early. I put Aster to bed.”
