Larissa could not reveal Edmund’s true identity. She could only let Wendy know that Edmund was no good person through this sort of roundabout way. 

“He never mentioned anything about marrying me” Wendy mumbled. “But he always said that he was serious about me.” 

“Then call him right now and tell him you’re pregnant. Ask him what you should do now.” Although Larissa was anxious, this was Wendy’s life. She could not make any final decisions for her best friend. 

“I —“Wendy hesitated. “Can I have two days to process it all?” She pleaded with Larissa. “I really can’t think straight now. Maybe I’ll have calmed down within two days and I’ll have figured it out.” 

Larissa could not bear to force her. “Okay.” 

It was almost time to pick Aster up from school. Larissa asked Wendy. “Want to go pick Aster up with me?” 

Wendy nodded lifelessly. “Sure.” 

There were always kids running around in the kindergarten, Larissa kept Wendy behind her. She was constantly looking out for any little” bombs” that would shoot over from wherever. 

Wendy was not as nervous as Larissa. She followed along very slowly.

Larissa was confused and curious. “Aster accompanied him?” 

“Well there’s a teacher too! That kid’s parents are still busy with work, so they could not come yet. Aster is quite good friends with him. and he’s worried that his friend might be afraid white alone at the hospital so he offered to go with him.
