Chapter 926
The man realized his mistake and chuckled awkwardly.
“Hey, my apologies, Mr. Lewis,” he said, carefully extending his apology, before swiftly changing the topic, saying, “Mr. Lewis, will you all be riding in my car, or how would you like to proceed?”
His use of ‘you all Included Kevan and Aster, who had been sticking close to Larissa.
Lewis pulled Larissa aside and stated, “It will just be the two of us.”

“My car is parked on the basement level We’re headed in different directions.” Dylan replied, gesturing casually behind him.

She ruffled his hair as she advised. “Be a good boy and listen to Daddy, I have to work today, but I’ll come see you tomorrow.”
Aster nadded in understanding.
She then exchanged a glance with Kevan, who was also looking at her.
In his jet–black eyes, there was a subtle hint of reluctance.

“Sure. See you tomorrow,” Kevan replied. He had a gentle and tender smile on his face.
“Where are we going?” Dylan inquired as he drove onto the highway.
“To my parents‘ place.” Kevan responded.
He was momentarily distracted as he unwrapped a packet of cookies for Aster.
Dylan glanced at the harmonious lather and son duo in the back seat through the rearview mirror.
“Are you sure about this?” Dylan asked.
Kevan raised his gaze, locking eyes with Dylan. “Why do you ask?”
Dylan’s gave shifted to Aster. “How are you going to explain to them…
Kevan’s expression remained composed as he clarified, “They’ve met Aster before. They know he’s Larissa’s son.”

But he refrained from asking them in Aster’s presence, so he simply remained quiet.
As they neared Kevan’s parents‘ house, Dylan gradually slowed down the car.

Kevan had been engaged in conversation with Aster throughout the journey.

Aster, unfamiliar with such a situation, cowered in Kevan’s arms.
“Daddy, who is she?” he asked in a hushed tone.
Kevan whispered, “She’s someone who isn’t well.”
He gently shielded Aster’s eyes with his hand and offered comfort, “You don’t need to be scared, buddy. I’m here.”
Dylan retrieved his phone and asked Kevan, “Should we call the police?”
Kevan nodded in agreement.
The three of them remained seated in the car.
