Chapter 968
“Why did you want to give me a present so suddenly? Marilyn asked curiously. She held her bracelet with her other hand.
Larissa said honestly, “I’m going back to Caldor next week.”
“What?” Marilyn was shocked. “Are you really going to teach Aldovian?”
“I don’t know. I’ll think about it when I get back.” Larissa smiled and made up an excuse. “I just miss home. I’m all alone here, and without
work, it’s a struggle.”
“That is true.” Marilyn pursed her lips, sobering up. “Will you still come back to Westonia?” she asked.
“We’ll see. If I find a suitable job in Caldor, I might not even come back,” Larissa said.
“Well, what about him?” Marilyn glanced at Allen. There was mischief in her eyes. “What if he’s just waiting for you to turn back?”
Larissa explained in exasperation, “There’s nothing between us.”
“Alright, alright! I get it. Nothing between you,” Marilyn said, all smiles. It was obvious that she didn’t think so.
Because of Allen, Larissa was not looking as forward to this dinner as she had been.
She’d planned to talk with Marilyn more. But Allen would sometimes glance over, and that would make her anxious. After their meal she
called the waiter over to pay the bill.
The moment they stepped out of the restaurant, Allen came running over.
“Larissa” he called out as if afraid that she wouldn’t hear him.
Larissa had to stop. She turned and asked, “Is there anything else you need me for?”
“It’s Sunday tomorrow. Do you have anything going on?” Allen asked. “I’m planning to take Freddy out. Do you and Noah want to come
together?”
“Im not available tomorrow. Sorry about that,” Larissa refused. “Have a blast you two!”
“But Freddy really wants you to go.” Allen held Larissa’s hand, not wanting her to leave unless she agreed.
Larissa didn’t want to argue with him. She shook his hand off sullenly.
“I told you. Allen, I’m not available.”
A dark cloud obscured Allen’s eyes for a moment, but he remained calm.
“Alright” he said a little regrettably. “Apologies for disturbing you.”
Larissa did not care about him anymore. After saying goodbye to Marilyn, she crossed the road to her car.
She couldn’t turn in the middle of the road. so she had to make a U–turn at the junction up front.
While at a distance away, she could see Marilyn and Allen standing together at the restaurant’s entrance.
