Lewis hurriedly tried to soothe Gary again. "Calm down, Uncle. Be calm."

Gary took several deep breaths before he managed to calm himself down. "You've dealt with all that bullshit with your family?" he asked.

The main reason he prevented Larissa from being together with Kevan was because he felt that the Rogers family was too complicated.

He did not want Larissa to get involved with all the stupid power struggles of the wealthy families.

He could not use "there was a reason" as a way to explain it all away.

"I will not make those mistakes again, and I will treat Lari so much better than before to make up for everything wrong that I did."

Kevan did not move and silently bore the weight of Gary's rage.

This was the punishment he should have had—even he wished he could slap himself hard when he thought of the pain Larissa had suffered.

"Uncle, that's enough." Lewis was scared that if he did not stop Gary, someone might die today. He hurriedly pulled Gary away from Kevan. "I believe Mr. Rogers regrets this deeply too."

Kevan pressed his lips tightly together. He did not say a thing.
