After comforting Celine, Spencer let go of her and went to call the doctor. Celine was left with Fiona in the ward. As soon as she turned and saw Fiona, her expression darkened.
If it weren't for her, Celine wouldn't have gotten into trouble at all. It was because of her that she had ended up getting kidnapped and being raped by those two men.
The door to the ward suddenly clicked open.
As soon as she saw people enter, Celine calmed down and sweetened her bitter expression. Spencer walked in, followed by a few doctors.
"Please have a look at her condition and let me know if she's okay." Spencer pointed to Celine, and a few doctors came over to assess her condition.
Fiona, who was lying down with her eyes closed, suddenly felt a burning gaze on her. With a frown, she opened her eyes slowly and saw Spencer staring at her. He was gazing at her in worry. When he saw her open her eyes, he went over to her and grabbed her hand. "Fiona, you're awake? How are you feeling now?"
Fiona felt a lump in her throat as she recalled the time when Spencer had secretly met her at the clothing store in T Country. That was the most beautiful thing she'd experienced during her entire lifetime, and it had made her realize that he was the most handsome man in the world. She had been ecstatic that he was hers. But why had he abandoned her to save Celine?
"Fiona? Tell me, are you all right?" Spencer raised his eyebrows and asked her again, concerned when he didn't get a reply from her.
"Ahem!" Suddenly, Celine coughed weakly and inquired the doctor, "Doctor, how am I doing?"
"You have recovered quite well. Just rest well for a few more days and you should be back on your feet in no time," the doctor answered.
Fiona glanced at Celine, but kept quiet. She stared at the ceiling in a haze.
"Why aren't you answering me, Fiona?" Feeling perturbed, Spencer gripped her hand more tightly.
"Mr. Cheng, let me check Mrs. Cheng's condition," the doctor requested, coming over to Fiona's bed.
"Fine." Spencer nodded but was unwilling to let go of her hand.
"I'm okay." Fiona opened her mouth and faintly mumbled those words. Her voice had turned unusually hoarse from all the crying the previous night.
"Examine her again and be sure!" Spencer ordered sternly.
The doctor nodded and began to do a simple routine examination for her while he asked her, "How do you feel, Mrs. Cheng?"
"I'm fine," Fiona replied casually.
"About last night..." The doctor wanted to ask her about last night but he didn't know how to phrase his question so as to avoid any awkwardness. He inquired her tentatively, "How are you now? Do you still feel any... impulse or desire?"
Fiona froze when she heard his words. It took her a moment to come back to her senses before she answered him, shaking her head, "No, not anymore." She had a faint memory of her being drugged, and she also remembered her body's burning desire for physical intimacy, but she wasn't sure if she'd taken any antidote.
"Did I take any antidote?" she asked, feeling shy.
"Yeah, you could say that!" The doctor glanced at Spencer. "Your antidote last night was your husband. I heard that he didn't stop pleasuring you until the sun shone bright in the sky.
You don't remember?" Upon hearing Fiona's words, Spencer felt like she had poked a hole through his pride. He turned around, unbuttoned the first few buttons of his shirt, and exposed his shoulder to her. "Look, these are the marks you left as a response to my skills last night!"
Celine was puzzled about what she was hearing, but when she saw what Spencer showed Fiona, her face became drained of blood as it became quite clear to her what they were talking about.
On the other hand, Fiona's face flushed a deep red, and she turned to the other side and said, "Spencer, don't be such an idiot! Stop it!"
"Ha-ha..." Spencer laughed as he buttoned his shirt, sat down next to her, and held her hand. "Hey, I'm just showing you the proof!"
The doctor looked at them and smiled. "Mrs. Cheng still has a fever and she just needs to rest for a while longer. It's nothing serious."
"That's great." Spencer nodded.
"If there is nothing else, we kindly ask you to excuse us."
"Sure, go ahead," Spencer replied with a curt nod.
"Wait, doctor!" Suddenly remembering something, Fiona quickly asked the doctor who was about to leave, "What about George? Is he all right?"
The doctor didn't say a word. Instead, he glanced at Spencer hesitantly.
"What happened to him?" Fiona questioned him again, knowing that something wasn't quite right. The doctor was a little nervous. Fiona was no fool. Seeing the doctor's response, she realized that George's must be in a sorry state.
"Don't worry, Fiona. He's fine!" Spencer said, trying to pacify her.
"Go away." The very next second, Fiona let go of Spencer's arms and sat upright as she held onto the doctor's gown. "Take me to him! I have to see him!"
