Fiona's brain went completely blank. As she froze with her eyes wide open, all she could see was Spencer's handsome face. She felt dizzy and her face turned red. She tried to push Spencer away, but this only made him more aggressive.
They were too immersed in the kiss that neither of them noticed the man outside by the window. It was Charles.
There was a curious look in his eyes as he watched the two of them. He looked as Spencer held Fiona, but he couldn't see her face from where he stood.
It was all so strange! Once he learned that Spencer had taken Fiona to the ward, Charles had dropped by on impulse to check up on her. But he certainly didn't expect what he saw.
Nevertheless, he tried to pretend that he didn't care. He already knew certain things about Fiona, like how Spencer dragged her to the Civil Affairs Bureau to register their marriage. He had initially wanted to use her against Spencer, but had that intention changed? Unconsciously, he was beginning to want to know more about Fiona.
Charles watched them with an uncharacteristic curious expression. But soon enough, his eyes regained their steely gaze as his brows furrowed. There was no way he wanted anything more to do with Fiona! Ambitious people who were bound for great achievements must not be dragged down by love. Besides, he was just a little interested in her, nothing more.
"Let... go of me..."
Fiona yelled.
But the words Fiona struggled to say were swallowed by Spencer in a kiss.
Thinking that Spencer was going crazy, she put up her fists and pounded on his chest.
"Don't move!"
It was as if a century had passed before he finally let her go. He looked at her with dissatisfaction as if he was blaming her for ruining this moment.
With one hand on his chest, Fiona took a deep breath, trying to regain her composure. When she raised her head to look at Spencer, she felt her face turn red.
Excluding the previous peck they had shared, this was Fiona's first kiss. It lacked the shyness and awkwardness of the first one; it was nothing but hot and passionate!
"Go away!" She pushed him on the shoulder as she turned away. But despite using all of her strength, her shove was too limp that it looked like she was just playing hard to get.
Spencer found this reaction amusing, but he pretended to be angry. "Go away? Where do you want me to go? Was your punishment not enough? Do you want to try it again?" Just then, his rough thumb caressed her soft lips.
'A punishment?' Fiona thought. 'Kissing me was a punishment?'
Fiona's face turned pale. "You make me sick, Spencer."
He quickly withdrew his hand as he felt his heart sank. "I make you sick?"
"The most disgusting thing I've ever done in my life was sleep with you and kiss you." Fiona glared at him. Her words shattered the romantic atmosphere in the room.
