Tangled Temptations novel Chapter 172

Harvey looked at Eloise with a deep gaze.

He murmured, "Eloise, let's talk when we get home."

She asked him again, determined, "Do you love me?"

He furrowed his brow, not answering her question.

Eloise knew it would be like this. Harvey didn’t love her and he wasn’t willing to lie, so he couldn’t answer.

The diamond ring in her hand gently fell to the ground, making a slight sound.

This sound was like their fragile relationship. When their relationship shattered, it wasn't as heated as when Harvey and Joan Lynch broke up. Their feelings were silent, and Eloise was the only one in pain.

Eloise looked into Harvey's eyes and softly said, "Harvey... I can't do this anymore. I'm not giving up on everything you have! Harvey, don't worry, I won't hold you back anymore! And you don't have to use marriage to bind me! I've told you before, you're free! Now, you're free!"

...

After saying this, Eloise turned around and left. She straightened her body, maintaining her dignity.

Even if she left, she would do so with dignity...

Who hadn't experienced some failed love? Who hadn't been deceived emotionally? It was just a gamble, and she just lost!

It was alright, she could stand up again!

Now, in Eloise's mind, Harvey was no longer the most important person to her.

...

"Eloise!" Harvey chased after her, grabbing her hand.

Eloise tried to shake off his arm.

He held onto her tightly, "Listen to me, I didn't cheat you! I..."

Eloise couldn’t shake him off.

She calmly said, "You didn't cheat me! You were just accommodating my feelings. You just couldn't resist your feelings for the one you truly love, and you can't bear to see Joan hurt even a little bit. But you never see my pain, never care about my feelings! Harvey, it’s over!"

Harvey pulled her tightly into his arms, "Let's go home and talk!"

Just then, a nurse in the ward suddenly screamed.

"Ms. Joan... Ms. Joan!"

Eloise turned around, and when she saw the scene in front of her, she was stunned.

Joan was pale, her wrist bleeding, but she was smiling, "Harvey, you can't leave me! If you go with her, I'll die!"

Harvey quickly stepped forward to press her wound.

His voice was full of restraint, "Joan, how long are you going to keep doing this?"

Joan trembled her lips, "You know very well why I'm doing this!"

Eloise just stood there watching. She was so tired!

After breaking up, she wouldn't have to reluctantly go to France.

After breaking up, she wouldn't have to wait for him during the long nights.

Breaking up was actually a good thing!

Eloise turned around and left. She didn't want to watch the drama of this infatuated couple anymore.

...

Eloise left, and she went back to Harvey's apartment.

She slowly took down the Valentine's Day party decorations that she had carefully set up in the apartment. Those five-thousand-dollar decorations, the Michelin dinner table, and the silver candlestick... she threw them all away.

The invitation from The Conservatoire de Paris was also thrown into the trash can.

After dealing with these, Eloise packed her things and prepared to leave.

Just then, her phone rang.

The call was from Michelle, who was sobbing uncontrollably. "Eloise, come to the hospital as soon as possible. Your father accidentally fell... it might, might be serious... Eloise, he wants to see you one last time! Eloise, hurry over!"

Michelle was crying so much she was on the verge of breaking down.

Angus was barely conscious, but he was still tightly holding onto Michelle’s hand, constantly calling for Eloise, hoping to see her one last time.

At the edge of life, the one Angus couldn’t let go of, was his beloved daughter.
