She took a step back, waiting for him to get out of the car.
"Let me hold the umbrella."
Raymond got out and took the umbrella from her.
The umbrella was big enough for Scarlett but small for two people.
The night wind was cold. Yet Raymond brought over hot air.
Scarlett realized his body temperature was high. She couldn't resist looking at him. "You had a fever and ate roast meat?"
"Low fever."
It was a low fever when he went out, but now he was not sure.
Scarlett didn't speak again and led him into the villa.
This was the second time that Raymond had entered this villa. Just after he sat down, Scarlett poured him a glass of water. As she put down the glass, the doorbell rang.
Scarlett glanced at him. "I'll go downstairs to get a takeout"
After saying that, she walked out in her slippers.
Raymond watched her back until she went downstairs.
He was indeed thirsty. He had been sitting in the car for more than four hours. People who had a fever needed more water. He didn't drink any water during the four hours.
He was very weak. His breath was hotter than before. Raymond knew his body temperature should have risen.
A glass of water was not enough for him. He gulped it quickly.
Scarlett came back with takeout food. She saw him pouring water. He held the glass with his fair, slender fingers, but he suddenly loosened his grip. The glass fell on the table. Water spilled.
"Sorry, I feel a little limp."
He looked up at her intensely.
Scarlett put the food aside and went into the kitchen t o get a towel. "When will Alexander come over and pick you up?"
Raymond looked down at the glass as if he didn't hear it.
If he wanted to eat it, she wouldn't prevent him.
Raymond pursed his lips, asking after a while, "What can I eat?"
He looked down at her. His eyes were glassy but intent when he looked at her.
"Something light like porridge."
"Okay."
Raymond ordered porridge and then sat quietly drinking water.
Scarlett was eating seafood. The aroma was strong. He didn't want to eat or feel hungry, but as he saw her eating, he wanted to taste it.
Scarlett finished the seafood, and Raymond's porridge also arrived. However, Alexander, who said he would pick Raymond up, hadn't appeared.
It had been more than half an hour.
She got the porridge and put it in front of him. "When will Alexander come over?"
