The Almighty Lord Caspian novel Chapter 453

The Gasse family held a lot of influence in Dhord City, and they owned businesses in Enies as well.

Zayn knew he could stop Southlake Corporation from breaking into Enies' business market.

He didn't think a nobody from Southlake City like Caspian could do anything in Dhord City. In this day and age, connections were of the utmost importance. Without them, it was too hard for one to establish oneself in a new place.

"That's such a great plan, Mr. Gasse!" Ginger acclaimed.

Southlake Corporation wanted to expand its business in the northern region of Diatoran, but if the company failed at Enies, it wouldn't be able to go any further.

The company would have to withdraw from Enies with its tail between its legs.

Ginger despised Caspian with every fiber of her being. He had humiliated her countless times, and thanks to him, her relationship with Jyn deteriorated.

She dared not even speak freely in front of Jyn anymore, lest she got into trouble for saying the wrong thing.

That was the reason why Ginger immediately turned to Zayn. She got a good read on him.

Zayn was the scion of a wealthy family, and he would never let someone who slapped him in public get away so easily.

As long as he took action, getting rid of Caspian wouldn't be a problem at all.

"You little slut! Don't forget what you said. If I kick Caspian out of Dhord City, I want Jyn!" Zac said with a sly smirk as he clutched Ginger by the chin.

Ginger squirmed as she said shyly, "Will I get something, too?"

"Of course!" Zayn declared before pulling her close.

"Not here, Mr. Gasse. What if someone sees us?" Ginger exclaimed as she flushed scarlet. She was still a virgin, but she was willing to do whatever it took to get her revenge.

"Hahaha! No one barges into my villa without permission. Come. I'm going to have fun with you today!"

"You're so mean, Mr. Gasse, but I like it!"

And so, right there in the living room, the two of them …

Over at Enies' licensing department, a pot-bellied man with slicked-back hair was on the phone.

"Rest assured, Mr. Gasse. Without my approval, Southlake Corporation won't be able to open a branch office here!" Chadwick Sheehan declared with a chuckle.

Although he was merely the director of the city's licensing department, he wielded a fair amount of power. Anyone who wanted to start a company in Enies had to be approved by him.

Nevertheless, Chadwick was respectful when he spoke to Zayn. Compared to the Gasse family's son, he was merely an insignificant speck of dust.

When the call ended, Chadwick's assistant came in and said, "The marketing manager from Southlake Corporation would like to see you, Mr. Sheehan."

Chadwick smirked. He didn't expect someone from Southlake Corporation to come over so soon, but it was the perfect chance for him to put them in their place.

"Send him in," Chadwick instructed as he lit up a cigarette.

"Got it, Mr. Sheehan."

His assistant backed out of the office, and Landon came in soon after.

"It's nice to meet you, Mr. Sheehan. I'm Landon Rowe, the marketing manager for Southlake Corporation," Landon greeted with a smile.

Landon was a long-time employee of Southlake Corporation. He knew that it was often challenging to deal with such government departments. He needed to keep Chadwick happy if he wanted to get his approval for the branch office.

Thus, he was very polite with Chadwick.

"Do you want something?" Chadwick asked, looking up at Landon.

"Mr. Sheehan, Southlake Corporation wishes to open a branch office here in Enies, and to do so, we'll need you to sign—"

Landon was halfway through when Chadwick shook his head and said, "I'm afraid that won't be easy. Enies is an important area in Dhord City. Many companies wish to break into the business market here, so we're very strict with our licensing."

Landon was startled. He had already completed all the necessary procedures. All that was left was getting Chadwick's signature.
