Chapter 1018: SIDE STORY (ETHAN): I ONLY WANT YOU

Ethan could see her through little trick, but when Aliana denied it, he didn’t bring the topic again.

But after that, Carla’s visit became less frequent, which made Ethan was more than happy, because he didn’t think he could digest her food properly.

It was not that he disliked Carla, but he felt whatever crazy idea in Aliana’s mind right now wouldn’t be proper for any of them. He only wanted to be with his mate, that’s all and he thought it would only be a phase.

However, Ethan was very wrong about that, because Aliana didn’t drop this matter at all, she only became subtle with it.

"Why you didn’t come to the orphanage often again?" Will asked Ethan one day, because he didn’t see him for a few weeks now.

"Hm?" Ethan raised his brows, feigning innocent. "Nothing. I was busy. Like usual, the king wanted to kill me by giving me a lot of things to do."

"I doubted that. I saw you take a leisurely walk with Aliana a few times," Will called him out for his lies easily.

Ethan laughed at that, but he didn’t give him a definitive answer. Thankfully, Will was not a busybody, thus he didn’t pursue the matter.

The truth was; Aliana had been setting him up with Carla a few times. At first Ethan didn’t realize it, he thought it was only a coincidence when he went to play with the little children, Carla was ordered to get the water from there.

Well, an encounter like that could happen anytime, nobody would take a notice of that, but then something similar happened again and again, which made Ethan wondered what actually was going on and every time, Carla would say that she came because of Aliana’s order.

One day, when Ethan returned home, he found Carla was there, which shocked him. The young girl was also shocked when she saw Ethan walked into the house.

"Aliana said there is no one here." Carla looked uncomfortable.

"What now?" Ethan asked, he couldn’t help it anymore.

"She asked me to fetch a magic stone in her bedroom, she couldn’t come herself because she needed to take care of something in the orphanage," Carla told Ethan the truth.

Ethan growled deeply, which made Carla misunderstood that, she thought he was angry at her.

"I am sorry, gamma Ethan. I didn’t mean to enter your house or your bedroom. I don’t feel this appropriate too, but Aliana said there would be no one here and she really needed the magic stone because she has some favor to ask to the merchant."

The person that Carla meant when she said ’the merchant’ was Lou.

"Give me that magic stone," Ethan said. He stretched out his hand and Carla gave the magic stone to him. "Don’t forget to close the door when you left."

After that, Ethan left his house to go straight to Aliana in the orphanage. He was upset, but he didn’t want to be angry with her.

"Here, the magic stone that you wanted." Ethan placed the magic stone on the table and Aliana looked surprise because he returned too fast, which made everything was clear for Ethan.

However, the gamma didn’t want to talk about this right now, because he knew that he would be so angry.

"Oh, thank you... did you meet with Carla? I forgot that I also ordered her to get the magic stone. I am sorry. I think I am getting old." Aliana tried to safe the situation without sounded too obvious.

"It’s okay." Ethan nodded and then left.

Yet, he didn’t go back to their house that night, he chose to crash in Redmond’s place, which annoyed the latter.

"We don’t have place for you here, go back to your house." Redmond nudged Ethan’s body with his feet. He was annoyed because this gamma had been laying down for hours, didn’t say anything and didn’t do anything.

Rye and Lucia came to him, but he was not as responsive, which made his children questioned Redmond about how weird uncle Ethan was.

"What happened?" Redmond finally relented and sat down next to him. "I just dealt with the fact Lucia is having a crush on a little brat, don’t give me another headache."

Ethan rolled his eyes and then got up.

"Where are you going?"

"You said I should leave."
