Redmond took them to the back of the stage, where he told the very same woman that he met at the entrance that they won the entry to the black market and showed her their number.
They used the same language, it was the language of the Holy Kingdom. Iris and Cane were perplexed, why would they use this language instead?
Meanwhile, Ethan didn’t understand at all. He was not privileged enough to receive such high education.
"Over here," Redmond said, as he followed the woman in red dress into a tunnel, where every few steps they would find a brazier, thus it was a little bit hot here and even though it was a tunnel, it was so bright, as the shadows of the fire danced on the walls.
The woman and Redmond walked side by side, behind them was Iris and Cane, while Ethan walked at the rear, he looked around this place, frowning unhappily, this place made him depressed, he didn’t like it at all.
Even though it was so bright here, he could feel the somber mood.
The five of them walked for a good five minutes before the woman led them to a black door at the end of the tunnel. She produced a set of keys in her hand and chose one from them to open the door.
It was a small room without any window. There was only a bed at one side, but nothing else. The three stoned walls around this room were the color of black. It was weird to see these black colored stones. Was that charcoal?
Iris touched it when they entered the room, but she immediately withdrew her hand because she felt like the stone electrocuted her. This small gesture didn’t go unnoticed by Cane, yet he said nothing.
"I will return twenty minutes from now," the woman said to Redmond in Andel language and left them there. She actually locked the door from outside.
"Hey! Did she just lock us in here?!" Ethan was alarmed and tried to twist the doorknob, but it was indeed locked.
"Oh, shut up. What? Are you afraid of being locked? She will return in twenty minutes." Redmond rolled his eyes to see how Ethan overreacted.
For Redmond, this situation was nothing, but for Ethan, it was very disturbing. It triggered something inside him. He became restless, as he couldn’t stop pacing around and tapping his foot against the floor.
Right. He was having a flashback of his life when he was in the dungeon, being locked in this place brought back so many memories and miseries to him.
He looked at the door again and again, as if waiting for someone to come and drag him out to be tortured, to be humiliated. His heart beat so fast as his breathing turned labored.
Cane saw this and understood what Ethan was feeling, he didn’t know that this place would be like this and Ethan would have such a strong reaction, if he had known, he would have sent him instead of Will earlier.
"Ethan," Cane called him, to which he lifted his head and looked at the alpha, but his eyes were clouded. "Nothing will happen. It’s okay."
