"Her father is evil, but she protected your daughter’s life with hers," Hanna pleaded with Stone. "She is not like her father."
"She is the seed of her father, what do you mean that she is nothing like him? Just because she was born as a runt, she is not as wicked as her father?" One of the slave trainers chimed in.
However, Hanna looked at them pleadingly. "Please... if it is not for her, at the very least, please, do it for me, I have helped you so much in the past."
Hanna was talking about the time when they were still slaves for Alpha Gerald and how she helped them as much as she could, even though she was only a servant.
Because of that, many people from the Howling Wolf pack knew her and were very grateful for what she had done for them. Hanna could live a good life rather than following the daughter of the wicked alpha, but she chose the latter.
They couldn’t understand why she was so fond of this young girl.
"I have done so much for you." Hanna didn’t like to mention this, but she would do anything to save her missy.
Stone clenched his jaw. They wouldn’t have a second thought to help Hanna, but to help Alpha Gerald’s daughter, the pain and torture that they had to endure for a decade was still fresh in their memories and some of them would have it for the rest of their lives, marring their skin.
"Take her to her room and call a healer for her."
It was Alpha Cane who walked toward the commotion with his shirt drenched in blood, but it was obvious that it was not his blood, but of those monsters, while his other injuries had started to heal.
"Yes, alpha..." Only then, they moved to help Hanna to take Iris, since it was their alpha’s order and they didn’t have the capacity to refuse that.
"Thank you, Alpha. Thank you so much!" Hanna bowed a few times to Cane before she followed the man, who carried Iris on his back. She was crying to see Iris’ condition.
On the other hand, Cane followed her movement with his sharp eyes.
He heard about what Hanna had done to his people and he helped Iris as a token for her good deed. But, it still didn’t sit right with him to see how loyal Hanna was to Iris, even though Alpha Gerald’s reign had ended.
The man carried Iris’ body to the slave room, the one she shared with Hanna and laid her down on the bed gently, and the healer came not long after that.
"I wonder why you have to cry for her." The healer looked at Hanna, not able to understand the tears that streamed down her cheeks.
"She doesn’t deserve this," she replied softly.
The healer regarded her sharply. "She deserved every painful moment."
Hanna clamped her mouth shut, she held herself from talking back to her.
