Due to her pregnancy, she was used to sleeping early, thus she would fall asleep right after dinner, which meant she wouldn’t be able to attend the real party, because it would only commence after dinner time.
That was why she was very upset, knowing the southerners usually held parties from morning to morning. That was their custom, after all. Along with an endless sex marathon.
Sofia wanted to use this as a chance to relive her passionate night with Cane. She really missed the way he manhandled her.
But, the party would start after dinner, let alone with no sex and neverending alcohol? What kind of party was that?
"Luna, please calm yourself down, you don’t need to talk so harshly to Sofia. The Alpha is very busy with Alpha Dristan and needs to sort out a few things, but it doesn’t mean he forgot about her." Maria frowned when she heard what Iris said. She looked uncomfortable around Iris, because she was so different from the last time she saw her. "You will hurt her heart."
Iris stared at Maria coldly. It was fine if Sofia hurt her, but it was not okay when it was the other way around?
"Are you saying that I am being heartless?" Iris asked, her expression was devoid of any emotion. At this point, she was probably right that she had indeed turned heartless.
Maria gasped, she put her hand over her chest. "Luna, you are putting words in my mouth." She shook her head. "I will never say something like that."
"The Alpha has approved everything, if you want to complain, you can go and find him, see if he wants to change it." Using Cane was the best way to get out of this situation, to end this meaningless argumentation, because this strayed too far.
"Luna, the Alpha is busy right now... and it is you who is responsible for this. Why aren’t you the one who suggests it?" Jemma, Sofia’s maid servant, finally spoke, seeing how Maria could argue with her.
Iris shifted her attention toward the brown-haired girl, who was standing next to Sofia. She was around her age and was slightly taller than her, but her eyes reminded Iris of Nala. The way she looked at her was also the same as that woman. Someone, who couldn’t remember their own status.
"Is this the decorum in the East? A maid can talk and even argue with the Luna?" Iris’ voice trickled with viciousness. For a moment there, she felt this sudden anger that rose up within her. The anger she felt when she stabbed Alpha Gill ruthlessly.
It seemed, Iris was not as unbothered as she tried to hide how she felt about whatever that transpired with Alpha Gill. Seemingly because she always suppressed her own feelings and memories, she looked fine on the surface, but the trauma was still there, messing up her mind.
"Luna Iris, we used to be slaves," Jill said grimly, she was another omega, who was with Maria, following Sofia everywhere.
Maria nudged the girl beside her, because she knew what she was trying to imply and this conversation had gone too far from their initial intention to meet with Iris.
"And you still think as one," Iris replied darkly and turned around, leaving them behind her, because she could feel she was going to lose control over her anger.
This feeling was a mixture of the disrespect they showed toward her and her unaddressed trauma. Her whole body was shaking when she walked away from them.
"I can’t believe she said something like that!" Jill got irritated when she was called a slave. "She knows very well what her father had done to us, right?"
