"I am sorry I woke you up, I will stay still..." Iris felt bad that she disturbed his sleep, knowing how much rest Cane needed.
With piles of work that he had to complete in order to get his pack back on its feet as soon as possible before they left for the Riverside pack and the Diandem pack and how he had to keep his ears open to the turmoil that happened in the capital city, his hands were already full. Not to mention Aderan caused trouble by taking away the Queen. Such matters would only bite Cane someday if anyone were to learn about this and needless to say, it would be another headache to be tackled down.
For now, Cane sent people in search of Aderan and to drag him back before he could board a ship. With the war for the throne happening for weeks now, not many ships got approval to sail. It should give them enough time to find Aderan and the Queen.
Iris knew about all of that and felt bad because she woke him up.
"I am sorry..." Iris said again meekly, as she stayed still, but Cane was the one, who couldn’t stop moving, as he kissed her lips down to her neck.
"I can’t fall back asleep," Cane said, as he slipped his hand under her dress and caressed her stomach, up to her ribcage, where he barely touched her breast.
Iris’ breath turned heavy with his touch and she knew immediately what he was going to do, but before he would do anything further, Cane lifted his head and stared at her.
"Is it okay if I touch you like this?" Cane asked, as he brushed his thumb against her nipple lightly. Iris blushed and nodded subtly, as she averted her gaze. The room was too bright to hide how her face turned crimson further. "How about this?" Cane cupped her breast and kneaded her soft skin with his palm.
Iris gulped down with difficulty, she pressed her lips to prevent herself from moaning as she reacted to the way he teased her.
But, because Iris didn’t answer his question, Cane stopped his movements. "Should I stop?"
Iris immediately turned her head to look at him with disagreement in her eyes. She opened her mouth, but she couldn’t find the right words to say without sounding so eager. Yet, when Cane leaned over and captured her lips, she melted.
"Tell me what you want, Iris. I don’t want to do something that you are not comfortable with," Cane said. He nibbled on her lip, savoring the taste of her sweetness as her warm breath tickled his face.
"I- I am comfortable..." Iris stuttered against his lips.
"Are you sure that it’s okay for me to touch you like this?" Cane pulled her nipple lightly and pinched it, which made Iris moan into his mouth.
"Hm... okay..." she said bashfully.
If this was Cane’s method to distract her mind from thinking of any impending danger, as there was someone out there, powerful enough to extricate the lycan from him, then he succeeded.
Cane managed to make his mate forget about such awful things and focus on himself alone, his touches, his kisses. He did not want her to worry about what the future would hold for both of them, at least, at this moment.
"Do you want me to continue?" Cane asked again, but this time, he sucked on her tongue, which made Iris speechless and she nodded as an answer.
However, a second later, Cane pulled away and lifted his head slightly to stare at Iris’ red face. Even her neck had turned so red. She looked timid, beautiful and vulnerable, but he ignited a fire in her blue eyes, which danced brightly with desire.
Cane had positioned himself between her legs, as he propped his body on one arm, so he wouldn’t crush her body with his weight, as his other hand kept twisting and pulling her perky nipple.
"Don’t you feel tired?" Cane intentionally pressed his lower body to hers and made her feel how hard he was right now and this made her breathing start to hitch, as her eyes hooded with want.
"I- I am not," she breathed out with difficulty, but when she saw what Cane was up to, she wrapped her legs around his hips, which made Cane’s eyes turn darker, his mischievousness disappeared. Iris had seen this and knew he would tease her to no end.
It almost felt like Cane was trying to test his own limits and see how far he could control himself. Meanwhile, the fact he could exercise such great self control over something he was always dreadful for because of the lycan irked him to no end, though he needed to thank Lu for that.
"Have you drunk the concoction from Grace?"
"I always drink it," Iris replied softly, she wouldn’t skip a glass and always drank it dutifully, though she wouldn’t say it out loud.
"Good," Cane said, as he pulled up her dress and lowered his head to nibble on her earlobe, the assault left Iris breathless, as she squirmed under him. He could smell how aroused she was right now and this was a blissful scent that Cane wouldn’t get tired of breathing in. "You smell so good, Iris..." he whispered in her ear, which made Iris close her eyes tightly. "...and wet."
The night was long and their desire for each other engulfed them, as they forgot about all their worries and everything else. It was a sweet escape for Cane and Iris when the reality was too harsh and life had not been so kind to them. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
