"Master, when will she wake up?" Letto asked Dexter, he glanced at Aria’s sleeping face. She still looked so pale and he couldn’t tell whether she was alive or dead, because theoretically speaking, she had long died. It was against the nature for her to be alive.
"Soon," Dexter replied curtly, he stared at Aria’s sleeping face. His expression didn’t show anything, but there was this complicated look on his eyes when he stared at the woman.
"Master, your father will be upset if he learned you still keep her around," Letto whispered to him. The body had grown taller now and became more talkative, but he immediately shut his mouth with one glance from his master and didn’t bring the topic again. "Master, your sister wanted to see you. She has been screaming and throwing tantrum because you have not yet come up with the cure for her eyes."
The aftermath with the lycan left Cyan blind and some time, she would have this breakdown every now and then because of how frustrated she was for not being able to see anything, especially when their father neglected her, as he focused on the baby.
Things didn’t look so good for her, but Cyan should have known by now that her father wouldn’t give a crap about her.
"Send Osana to accompany her, both of them are a good friend, right?" Dexter looked nonchalant. Now Cyan had lost their father’s favor, which had never been there in the first place, Dexter didn’t care much about her.
Letto grimaced when he heard the order. "Lady Cyan might kill princess Osana." The cursed princess and a blind mistress, both of them were not a good combination, as they had this bad temper.
"She can do whatever she wanted with her." Dexter waved his hand to dismiss the young boy.
Meanwhile, on the other part of this palace, inside the king’s bedroom, one could smell the thick scent of blood in the air, but none of the warriors became suspicious of it, they had this same stern look on their faces.
After all, this was the warriors that had been handpicked by the head of sorcerer to guard the king’s palace.
However, if one came inside the king’s bedroom, there would only be a cruel sight that would greet you.
The baby had grown up so much within a few weeks, he looked like a seven years old boy, while his skin started to turn normal.
But, what more terrifying was the fact his face started to form almost like Alan. This terrified the king so much, as he started to put two and two together...
=============================
After their conversation that morning, Cane decided he would keep the poison and Iris didn’t mind it at all. She didn’t mean for Haco to take it seriously in the first place, thus she didn’t object that.
On the fifth day, the entourage from the Winter Moon pack arrived in the Diandem pack and was a long entourage that consist of at least four hundred warriors and seven big carriages. No wonder, it delayed them by a day to reach this pack.
"Are they going to attack us or what?" Ethan whispered to Cane, as the two of them stood in front of the gate of Diandem pack, waiting for the entourage to arrive, after they got the information they were only a few hours away. "Why alpha Nolan bring so many people with him? I think a hundred or two will be enough to escort Iris and you to reach Red Claw pack."
Cane didn’t say anything to respond to that, but he knew what the reason for it, it was for a show of power, the same thing that the king did when he arrived at the Howling Wolf pack before.
The entourage stopped a distance away from the entrance gate and one of the warriors opened the carriage, where an old man came out and walked toward Cane.
His hair had turned white, but he still had this stern look and intimidating aura surrounded him, aside from looking a little bit old than the last time he saw him, there was nothing had changed about alpha Nolan. He was still this arrogant and standoffish person, who had traded his daughter for hundred of magic stone and then gone.
Now this man was willing to come to Cane to escort him to the Red Claw pack, there was no way he came with a pure and good intention to keep them safe.
"Cane," alpha Nolan called Cane once he stood in front of him. "It has been a while since the last time we saw each other." His voice was deep and demanded attention, his presence was so strong, some of the warriors that Cane brought with him furrowed their brows, as they could feel this intimidation.
"Alpha Nolan," Cane greeted him the same. "It has been a while, indeed."
"You have grown up so much, Cane. I saw you were still a young boy the last time we met."
"And I am an alpha now, I prefer to be addressed as such." Cane subtly corrected alpha Nolan and told him how he wanted to be addressed with his title, because it was very disrespectful for not addressing the other alpha with their title, unless the two of you were extremely close to drop the formalities, but heaven knew how ’close’ Cane and Nolan were.
